Nice demo! It’s quite the workout at first but it gets easier over time. I’m T4 complete. Personally I find it easier to get changed in my chair. Take care 💪

“Until a person acquires the ability to know himself and respect himself, he cannot realize his true worth. Self-esteem and self-confidence are important characteristics of every person, which help him decide the direction of his life. Only when we understand our worth can we properly establish our place and role in society. True success in life can only be achieved by recognizing one's potential.”

My current wheelchair has a 3° camber, and I still get my fingers injured when someone accidentally bumps me into a hard surface, so as a future reference I think I'll be going with a 5° camber since it sounds like it'll give me better maneuverability while also better protecting my hands from potential harm. Plus, since I'm petite, I feel like I can get away with the 5° for when I can afford to upgrade my wheelchair. My current one weighs 45lbs and this year my doctor updated my wheelchair prescription to state that it's medically necessary for it to weigh 12lbs or less.

@@Tino1994 the airline wants to make sure you are “secure” to avoid accidentally dumping you out of it while transferring onto the plane. The number of straps are certainly overkill though.

I agree the track wheelchair is awesome. It's too bad they're so expensive. I'm 70 and have gone to Michigan, about an hour north of Grand Haven, all my life. I still get around but now I have to use carts in stores and wheelchairs and mobility scooters on vacation. I've had a very lucky life but I still would love to go to the beach and our nature trails when I'm in Michigan. Best of luck to your lovely family.

We are remodeling with concerns for any possible future (old-age related?) mobility issues and are wondering if wheelchair users tend to prefer a bathroom with door opening into the room or out.

Thank you for making this! everything you said makes perfect sense and I have been trying to explain to my PTs & OTs & docs that I KNOW my newfound thoracic and cervical spine pain is because I have no strength in the core muscles anymore so I knew my neck and other accessory muscles were kicking in extra to try to help stabilize my spine and hold me upright. It's gotten so bad that I literally have spent my days lying on the floor for the last year. None of my healthcare team seemed to believe me when I asserted that i cannot hold myself upright for very long at all, and how fatigued I get so easily and quickly, whenever I try! I reported all the things- inability to deep cough, deep breathe, my speaking and voice was weakening, and everyone kept trying to treat my painful neck and thoracic spine as separate from the T12 level paralysis. It has been even hard to find accounts of other paraplegic, quadriplegic, or hemiplegic people documenting this specific problem from the loss of their core skeletal muscles' function. I continued to wonder how is it possible that even quadriplegics/tetraplegics seem to have no problem being seated in their wheelchair all day and functioning, while I have a T12 spinal cord injury and even some limited feeling & ability in my legs and yet I still cannot hold my own torso and head weight up for more than a few minutes at a time! I will bust out my old binders and pay attention as I attempt to hold myself upright today. Thanks again 👍
