Your video is pretty cool! Excellent photos!!! Recently, I purchased this lens and found it a challenge. At 400mm the sharpness isn't there like I want. I'm not using a tripod, so that will make a difference. However, it should be able to bring sharper photos while being hand-held. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks!!!

@chris - how do you prevent your tripod legs/feet from moving when the water comes in or recedes? That's the one issues I've always had at this place. I don't mind getting wet but once my tripod is standing in water, I can feel it move/sink. Any advice?

No photographer that has done something only a few times should be doing a review on that subject. You just don't have the experience. Not trying to be harsh, this is just simple fact. Thank you for mentioning any relationship status with Fuji. I am wanting to know that info for any reviews I now watch. So I know if I am watching an advertisement.

Beautiful waterfall pictures! Getting on the boots and wading out in the water. Now that is dedication! When it is raining how do you keep your filter rain free? Constant cleaning ?

Glad I found this video. Just got my copy, and yes, it works great as long as you know to expect the increased limitations of lack of light.

For any Canon users that are still in doubt hear me out. Why I switched from Canon (crop) and Sony (ff) ? Last year I bought a cheap X-e2 to test out the "Fuji colors" and what I found out was: - the ISO performance is on the same level as my a7ii - the build quality, attention to detail and overall usability (menus, dials) out matches both companies - even the "cheap" lenses outperform their Canon equivalents - you don't need the latest camera / every camera they release is at LEAST decent In the case of Canon in particular I was a huge fan of the EOS M series, had most of them m, m10, m50, m100. They haven't changed anything, the Digic processor has the exact noise they had in 2012... And same as on the xxxD series. Go above 800 ISO and the color noise is disgusting Canon lenses are mediocre at best, even the L series. I had tested lenses made in the 70s and their current equivalent, most of the image quality is still the same... Astrophotography, horrible on canon (at least the normal spectrum ones) Dynamic range and video mediocre (on crop, ff is slightly better). Canon is like Apple, giving you a tiny piece of what you want and crippling the heck out of their products, the m50 II is the perfect example. They managed to sell you the same camera for the past at least 12 years. Lack of updates - Fuji added phase detect improved AF to their older bodies and constantly fixes or adds stuff. Build quality, plastic is fantastic until you get to taste proper quality

Weight? Really? So much lighter? Fuji lenses are cheap??? Ergonomics? With Fuji? I never heard someone saying that xt2(or 3 or 4) have better ergonomics than a Canon (or Nikon). Are you sure you don’t need only an iPhone? 😊 Peace

I bought my copy of the 100-400mm lens last year. It really is a very sharp lens. At the start of 2020 I was in Antarctica and the images I took with my X-T2 and this lens were amazing. I compared my pictures with a Nikon D850 that were taken by a professional photographer on board and the only noticeable difference is the depth of field that is (considerably) better with the Nikon. Regarding sharpness I saw no difference whatsoever and the better resolution of the Nikon pictures was negligible. The only major drawback is the price of 1800 euro which is a hefty price tag for a lens most people will use only a few times. I purchased mine with a cashback of 350 euro when the lens was 1600 euro so in the end I only paid 1250 euro which is imho a more correct price for this lens.

Great video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts? I too am considering the same switch. How has the Fuji held up in cold weather and/or wet conditions? Do you use a rain cover? If so, can you recommend one? Thank you so much!

Great video, realize this question is a bit late - what is your opinion now about durability of fuji cameras/lenses? I'm pondering buying the xt4 coming out shortly.
@ronald74824 жыл бұрын
I know this video is from a year ago and it popped up in my KZbin. I'm considering to switch from Nikon D750 to fuji xt3. Like you said it's difficult to switch. It's a beast of a very good camera but the fuji is much lighter and if the pics of the xt3 are nice than it had to be nicer of the xt3. Anyways, it's difficult and to switch to an other brand. Still considering 🙄

Looking to switch from the Sony a7riii to the Fujifilm xt4. Besides low light performance, what are some things I should be worried about?
@Optidorf4 жыл бұрын
Less dynamic range, less depth of field of course and less resolution (meaning less cropping possibilities). I think only the second one is really relevant in low lighting conditions.

Hello Christopher, I purchased the Fuji XT3 in 2019 I have been practicing with the camera and I like it very much. I share the same reasons as yours as well, but mainly I purchased it for a walk around tool and somehow I also purchased two additional lenses the 10-24 which as of this writing is being shipped and I have been using the 18-135mm and the 18-55mm. I also enjoy shooting with my Nikon D-810 as well, The Nikon has a good resolving power to details with good glass and an excellent dynamic range. The XT3 is also a powerful tool once mastered. Somehow I also see that when it comes to resolution the Fuji medium formats do deliver a lot more than what a crop sensor could. I wish though that Fujifilm would also manufacture a full frame exactly like the Fuji crop sensor, similar to the XT3 camera with all the same functions and a battery grip that has some good grip and a large battery of course.

Another amazing video! I love the way you tell your opinion without imposing your ideas but rather just telling what you think. Thank you so much! I’ve got a FUJIFILM XH1 and I love it! I took it out in the mountains here in Switzerland and I’m very happy with it. Battery wise is a big thumb down:((( compared to canon... nevertheless I carpe diem when I use the fujifilm, the feel of it, the images, the settings are absolutely love at first sight.... Although I still have kept my canon as my plan b just in case as I’ve got better lens on it :))). And I totally agree with you when it comes to being discreet with fujifilm, I hate when people notice me taking pictures:)))

I completely and wholeheartedly endorse what you are saying here. Ive just made the switch after a couple of years deliberation and I have to say Im so glad I did. My Canon 5DMk2 was just to long in the tooth and I couldnt see any further with Canon. I sold all my L series lenses and 2 5DMk2's and now I have a Fuji XT2 and an F2 50mm lens. the colours are amazing the weight saving is brilliant it might take some time to get used to the size difference but Im sure I will. Love it to death !!!
