I always recommend a revolver to most folks and especially if you lack hand strength and the ability or desire to practice regularly. They simply work.

When the hammer is completely down, one or the other of the firing pins is protruding. And is in contact with the primer. That is why you carry it in half cock. Also take care to load your Derringer on half cock, as closing the barrels, rambunctiously can set it off in your hand.

Another point worth consideration is that when a revolver is inside the waistband in a soft holster (comfortable), the cylinder is being compressed and makes the trigger INCREDIBLY hard to pull. An accidental discharge is virtually impossible compared to a semi-auto.

Very beautiful revolver! Is this a no dash or dash one variant? I have the 586-8 classic with the 6” barrel that I bought new in 2017 and enjoy it very much. It’s not quite as nice as the older originals like yours but still nice. Also wanted to mention that that your voice sounds familiar? Do you have a S&W model 29-3 with the 8” barrel? I remember seeing a KZbin video quite awhile back where the guy had a model 29 like that and his voice sounded almost identical to yours..

Here is an ad from Aug-Sep 1967 Radio-TV Experimenter for the "World Famed Brevettata Tear Gas Pistol". It looks like your white handled gun. One gun cost $13.07, four for $8.79 each. The ads were fairly common at the time in magazines with a mainly male readership. I used to fantasize about using the blanks to launch cal 22 airgun pellets, but from your video it was clearly designed to make that impossible. In the 8th grade, a blank-firing revolver was stolen from the gym office by a school thug who thought it could be converted to fire live 22 cartridges, which would help him to more effectively extort classmates of their lunch money.

You are 100 percent correct. I too have many full siE semi autos in my xollection. Dor around the house and in my car as a gun i may have to retreat to. But you are xo xorrect. A small caliber revilver is the way to roll. 5 or 6 shots is ideal. A one of 2 shot darenger is a liability. Do you empty both rounds do you hold one back. Too much to think about. Multy rounds are better than size of rounds every time. A shot if 2 to get perp on the ground and 3 or 4 in rederve to gold him or hold his buddys at bay. Great vidio.

Can't decide on the caliber for conceal carry. Def the LCR. Don't see the point in the .357 Magnum if only shooting plus p 38 or just 38 special. Coming from a semi-auto background.

love the video I feel the average person should go to a local gun shop and use the range provided to try some of these out prior to buying. Might be surprised to see how many people will buy a 357 mag light weight , take it home , fire it and think WTF ? Practice is key !

I love .32s because they are a nice step up in power and RELIABILITY over a .22LR. Seller and Bellot 7.65 is solid in my P32, no issues. Yeah you can get rim lock in the shorter OAL jhp’s…but a 73gr FMJ compared to a 40 grain LRN is a nice upgrade. The .380 to me is more reserved for intermediate sized guns (cheetah, ppk, glock 42 etc). I can shoot a pocket rocket .380 and dont sense that much recoil, but a .32 is smooooth. And put those 73 grain pills in the right place with some urgency and its game over. Mossad did just fine with a .22LR. Its about training and willpower. Will to live.

I just took delivery on the straight guard example you have there. Love it. Came somewhat sharp, but not paper cutting sharp. I had to work on it with an Arkansas oil stone for fifteen minutes, followed by a few strokes on the leather strop with compound, to get it paper cutting sharp. Now it zips through heavy duty cord like it's not there. Nice knife. Amazon for $17.00.
