Nice choice my friend! Now that I'm retired, I spend most of the day in comfortable clothing, typically workout shorts while I'm inside (and sometimes out). I carry my North American Arms Pug in .22WMR in a Sticky Holster the majority of the time - it's lightweight, secure, yet can still do the job. In cargo shorts, I step up to my Ruger LCR .38spcl in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. I guess I'm a revolver guy, especially in the warmer weather.

I agree with your belief that for close-up defense a reliable 22lr should be sufficient to convince a perp to find something else to do. Naysayers will bring up multiple assailants, etc., etc,

Seems you got a pretty good grasp on the reality of concealed carry, sounds like from experience and personal knowledge. Red dots, extra mags, and aftermarket everything looks cool but can be totally unnecessary lots of the time. This is coming from a through and through “FUD”🤷.
