Hi, you can only choose one color for the complete series. To add a color for a categorie you could add more data series with each its own color. You can also set the color for each bubble manually by selecting only that one bubble and set its color. To select only one bubble click a bubble to select the series and then click again on one of the bubbles to select only that bubble.

Hi Finn! Easiest way to do this is by creating a helper column with the percentage difference and show that column (as value from cells) in the data labels of one of the data series.

I really liked the variance lines ;-) but sorry bro, the calculation for labeling isn't correct, we always have to divide by the base number: actual/previous-1 - so the first variance is 39% cuz we plotted here the change from previous period to actual.

Thnx for your question, Sarang! You need select the data labels, press ctrl+1 for chart option, go to the label options and check the right boxes. I think there are two boxes checked at the moment.

Never tried this with a pivot table. Formatting options are limited for pivot charts so i dont know. What do you mean by automatically?

To extend the graph you can just add data undernauth the table and extend the ranges of the chart. Dont forget to extend all data series of the chart.

Hi Mostafahwafy, i dont know how this can be done in a pivot chart but in normal charts you can apply conditional formatting by adding a second data series on top of the first. See my other videos about charts with conditional formatting for more info.

This is an excellent video, thank you. I have a question for you… how would you recommend I adjust this when a lower bar is better? I’m looking at comp to revenue ratios (not sales), and using actuals vs budget, so the “smaller” bar is better. Is that an actual change to the calculated diff columns or so I adjust the error bar custom series from positive to negative?

Hi Ghuruba, for sure you can add multiple data series for one checkbox. But one checkbox can only be linked to one cel so you need to add more columns depending one the value in that specific cel.

I had a bit of difficulty with today line, but after i started over, the second time everything worked. I would definately use this template for my projexlcts. Deeply thankful!!!

When I try this with my data set I get negative values for the "west value" and "east value" columns which then throws off the x axis of the chart. Not sure how to fix. I followed the formulas. Any advice? My initial data values are smaller so maybe this is the issue.

To be clear when my values are smaller than 45 so when I try to subtract 45 from the data in my east and west columns I get a negative value. Is the 45 a significant value? you don't really explain what that represents and why we need to use that value.

Thnx for your question! In this case you need to replace the 45 with a smaller value. The 45 is only to get a series for the round edges. You need to look for a right value to get nice round edges on your bars.
