All you have to say about gush is dday. DDay with 4 gushes would be an absolute monster. Necro is much better in a storm deck than it is in doomsday, would be nice after the beseech fluke. Only changes I would make would be move necro and scroll to yes risky, and Mind's desire to Yes safe. Mind's Desire is much easier to interact with nowadays and is way too resource intensive. Treasure cruise is a lot better than Dig in multiples because the first cruise fuels the next cruise a lot better than Dig does. We also have 4 ponder 4 preordain now, that makes cruise better.

I thought you about punted that 1st game in round 2 game with the Phoenix, but that was a sweet comeback. I got a very similar Survival list, except I run 3 Gaea's Cradles, 2 Hexdrinkers, 4 Ouphs, and 2 Spirit Guides rather than all the tool box cards. I also have some more reliable black mana for DRS. I'm definitely gonna have to add Phoenix to it though after watching this. And I don't like the idea of adding Pyroblast either... I wonder if Spinal Villain would be any good? It kills frog and Atraxa.

Imo id love to see a yavimaya boseju package in a deck like this. Seems like it reduces the downside of some of your lands quite a bit. Also- grim monolith might be worth a consideration since it’s basically free Worldy tutor if you’re that far green

Seems like mana denial is a real strength when sending and a weakness to this deck when receiving, would a crucible or two help? Could really drive home the tutored wastelands and could bring back destroyed temples/caverns?

I think the part about saga making the format about more creature removal is inaccurate, interacting with constructs through 1 for 1 removal is just not a good deal, it's something you're sometimes forced to do. some decks really don't care about constructs but I assume it was pretty annoying having null rod/ouphe against jewel/po decks and getting beat down by constructs consistently. what I reeeeally hated about saga is the consistency in which players have access to restricted cards(esp lotus and sol ring) or bullets you don't want more than one of(side hate like cage, needle or bad combo piece to draw often like manifold key)

If the biggest consequence of a Necro unrestriction is that Doomsday plays 1 more copy, why is that a problem? I don’t think it’s worth restricting if it’s just a good card, rather than the card you design your deck around. Even if Necro storm is a deck by itself, more deck archetypes is a good thing.

Before watching the video, my thought is to unrestrict Strip Mine. They've decided to allow removal of basic lands (shown by the printing of Sowing Mycospawn), so why should Strip Mine be limited? Maybe LED should be unrestricted. I find it to be a fun mechanic- give up your hand in favor of being able to spend that mana in other places (top of deck, graveyard, flashback, exile, whatever). If you have to restrict Echo to make that happen, so be it.

I think an unrestricted Necropotence works against one of your stated principles, which is to bring eyeballs/excitement/PR to Vintage. Too many people are old enough to remember and be scarred from Necro Summer standard, or Trix in Extended. I think unrestricting it would actively stop people from trying Vintage even if Necro was safe (which FWIW I don't think it is)

The fair deck that could really use Necro is the mono black scam/aggo deck that's been getting a bit of traction lately. And if you unrestrict it, I think you should see an uptick in pithing needle and more enchantment hate. Totally agree with the Library unrestriction. With that said, I would bet Brian Kelly still wouldn't play the full 4 for a reason that only makes sense to him.

The funniest unrestriction micro format is clearly unrestrict Ancestral and also Mental Misstep. Is this a good format? Almost certainly not. Is it funny? Almost certainly.

One thing with 4 Necropotence storm is that Borne Upon the Wind is a blue card that makes Necro go absolutely nuts, I think there’s a reasonable chance that a storm deck can exist with a Necro unrestriction.

I trophied a league right before the Bauble/Saga restriction with RW painter. Super fair deck, but it really doesn't work without 4x of each.

I would love to see saga and bauble unrestricted again because I think it added diversity with my favorite archetype being better, fastbond.

The best hulk pile is a lot better than it has been in the past, Thoracle + Spellseeker (notably reasonable card in deck built around flash) for Consult means you only need to play one bad card in Blood Pet/Wild Cantor, which while not good is still one mana ramp.

I think Brainstorm makes a lot of sense for NO - SAFE. It's also nothing like Gitaxian Probe and Misstep which you wrote in another comment. Those cards deserve to stay restricted for entirely separate reasons. I think Channel is quite risky because Emrakul the Promised End is colorless and can't be countered. Channel isn't too good when you can Force the spell it's fueling. Being green might make the power level of a new deck okay, but as long as opponents have to counter Channel itself every time I think it would be very powerful. I think the fact that Memory Jar is functionally legal in Standard and no one cares says a lot about the card (Memory Vessel).
