Stop exploiting poor people....carry your own gear you lazy bums

2 dollar tip, this shows the true character of these people and how they go through life and treat people. To reach the summit of humanity would be a better goal.

“I’ll leave when the mountain tells me to leave” Was the avalanches, crazy stomach bug, and the sherpas refusing to take the team up not the mountain nicely telling you to go home??? Does the mountain need to kill this guy for it to be clear??

Ego is inexorably linked to any curiosity as to the limits of the self. Curiosity of others, may be a genuine exercise in selflessness, but not often. Endurance events, and dangerous exploration, are always driven ego.

And after talking about how important his guides and team are, major talker says you need to be “independent”

Cool video but why so dramatic about making a new route? You know very well the Sherpas can also do the routes but they don't make it a big deal. We are living a time where all we focus is 1st this, the 1st in that.

Did I just see one of the white dudes pushing back one of the porters with a stick and preventing him from leaving when he decided to leave due to ridiculously lousy tips? That's so aggressive and just not cool behaviour at all. They ain't obliged to carry your godamn bags for you if you refuse to pay them well. They ain't your slaves for crying out loud! You do not own them or in any way superior to them just because you earn more than them but yet so miserly with your money. You can afford to pay so much for the expedition but not pay a decent amount for these porters who are risking their lives just to carry your bags and earn a few miserly dollars from you??? Their lives are important and valuable to them and their family too! Lots are sole breadwinners supporting extended families so please don't be so entitled and selfish and try to put yourselves in their position. Utterly disgusting behavious from these goddamn mountaineers!

One thing I have heard about another mountain, Everest, that I think there is a lesson in is that most people who die climbing Everest do not die on the way up but on the way down.

They always say going back down is more dangerous and challenging but they hardly document it like they do for the ascend and summit.

What an adventurous journey to one of the world's dangerous 8 thausander peaks, 'Dhaulagiri". A true testament of love, resilience and trust of an Ecuadorian mountaineers couple. Lots of love from Nepal.

I'm watching this video 4yrs after its release and while watching I felt like something was off so I jumped to the comments. I feel validated with how this video failed to say thanks to the guides and how little they were praised and 'heavily compensated'. Adrien gave me an off-putting attitude. I found it odd. Kudos for Summiting K2, but damn show an ounce of being thankful to have that opportunity!

And when it’s time to go home, think about your family and GO HOME!! I’ve heard that most climbers die on the way down. Complacency?
