Going to Dune makes strategic sense. Constantine is here in commands of the imperial fleet. Remember his mother told him his purpose was to protect his sister the next Empress. This gives her much needed support against Desmond and her mother in season 2.

It would have been the standard 10 episodes that we're currently accustomed to from HBO. Back in 2019 when the spin-off was announced as "Dune: The Sisterhood" with Denis Villeneuve directing the first episode. Or at least, that was the plan. But at that time WB/HBO was at the beginning of the Streaming Wars and was owned by AT&T whose execs were all about getting original content on HBOmax ASAP. And later on, the first episode directed by Johan Renck was shot, in the can and screened screened for HBO and WB-D execs and it wasn't quite aesthetcaly what they expected nor was itacceptable to them. The production was shut down for effectively 6 - 8 months while it was retooled, the director was removed, showrunners were swapped out, 2 lead actresses quit because the delay's duration could have exceeded 8 months and, at that time out concerns that possible scheduling conflicts with other jobs could occur; and the axe of Zaslav was swinging in full arcs chopping production budgets, laying off many studio day-to day staff and cancelling existing and / or in-development projects for tax write offs. At the end of the production's hiatus, the episode count was now six from he originally planned ten so if it felt like connective tissue was missing in those six, there wee the evidenced creditable causes of it. The show also was affected by the WGA strike, but not the SAG-Aftra one because the actors' contract were under the UK European Equity union, so shooting the as-is scripts was possible, but on set revisions were not. It wasn't an easy road the show travelled and considering the all the production difficulties Dune: Prophecy" had encountered, the final product, was more than acceptable in some respects, outstanding in others.

Desmond is a really interesting character and the last two episodes made him even more important because of his Harkonnen and Atreides bloodline and his potential that both Valya and Tula realized before he was born, and probably the reason why he was taken by the mysterious enemy and turned into a sort of "patient zero" for the retrovirus. I hope season 2 will better explore Desmond's potential, because I feel like writers are intentionally making him a version of Paul Atreides or his ancestor, which I find very fascinating.

I really liked episode 1, I didn’t really care for episode 2. So this season so far has been so so. I do believe the season will get better!

The opening sequence in the style of Voltron was a nice Easter egg. With the 2nd episode, Agatha leaving the Eternals alive seemed out of character and the other points by Michael were my exact thoughts

ROCHA SAYING HE'S A SIZE QUEEN AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH But yeah I'm with Michael this whole season so far has been a meh for me I don't know why it feels so different for me. I feel like the dialogue this season so far has been non-stop quips and jokes. I imagine this is what people that hate the MCU think the MCU is written. "Oh he's behind me isn't it", "Well that just happened" type of dialogue. Also this show is visually is way too glossy for me, it looks like the 'camera' is smeared in vaseline, the bloom and glare is out of this world it looks like The Hobbit movies with its shininess. I dunno maybe seasons 1 and 2 were like this I forget but so far this season hasn't been for me and I'm an MCU die-hard. It doesn't feel like these guys are making the most of the premise. Totally with yall on the nitty gritty too...all the Eternals lore was messed up and it didn't make any sense how those Voltron robots formed together. Writing has been so so sloppy.

3 episodes in, unfortunately I'm not enjoying the show. Its too goofy, empty calories and emotionless for me personally.

The young justice show portrayed Metamorpho and his abilities very well if anyones curious how they work.

Terrible series. It was good in ep.1 that revealing the background story of Harkonnen. But after that, all episodes are junks. Too much non-sense conversation. Made no progress and extremely boring. The superior old mother back for a while from the hell but she did nothing. Then she's gone again. We just don't get the point! I had put a good expectation for the series but ended up with very unsatisfaction. The ending is also terrible (no ending at all). All the story writer and the production crews should be fired. They are not doing their job well and produced a worse film for us. Just a waste of time in watching this silly film.

Was hit and miss on season 1 but it stuck the landing, loved season 2 but fumbled the ending and so far meh on season 3.

I am a Batman guy. Never cared too much about Superman. But this trailer has me hopeful, emotional, and inspired for a new take on this character. Might be what people don’t know they need right now 👏👏👏

Gotta agree, while watching S3Ep1 a lot of the time I was just thinking that none of the other Avengers were distinct enough to matter enough to be anything other than "Random Mech Pilot A, B, C and D". Even Bucky felt like set dressing. Monica got a bunch of screen time but, to me, was wasted never displaying use of her own power at least once when the Hulks took down her mech (even if ineffective).

1 bored me to sleep. 2 and 3 are excellent. 3 is so heartwarming. David Harbour proving his star status in TWO animated series currently!

What if..Phase Meh was animated?

The false enthusiasm was really inspired by Disney and genuinely annoying. Otherwise the new Doctor can act when given the chance, which is rare. The dramatic character moments seem ignored in favor of a ridiculous story with babies. Ruby is no Rose. Themes are not a way to criticize movies. Any story can have a theme. They missed the dramatic character development in favor of ridiculous story about babies. Simply because you have a theme it doesn't mean that you actually have character development and dialogue and plot and stakes.

So What If season 3 writers room was just the Key and Peele Gremlins 2 sketch? Have a Merry Christmas guys looking forward to more Geek Buddies in the New Year

Like the animation and I like revisiting these characters and seeing them in a different light with a twist. But I agree with the criticisms. The writing is coming across as lazy and messy. And I come away feeling that these episodes are very light weight. It's like they aren't taking this seriously so why should we as the audience.....? 🤔🤔

You guys, totally wrong about episode 2. It was an AMAZING episode. It was not "lazy writing' . It seems you guys TOTALLY FORGOT the name of this show. Let me remind you. It is called "WHAT IF..". It is not called " This is the continuation of current story-lines in the MCU". Now, based on that information, judge the episode.

Im with Vogel on this one, unfortunately it's a "meh" . I still think they haven't utilised the concept of what if properly.

I thought that little girl Weasel befriended looked just like the princess tbh. Maybe it was just a poor character design choice. Also as somebody who thought that the teaser to the teaser for Superman looked network TV/CW like (independently btw, not everyone is a Twitter bandwagon troll), I think it's annoying that people aren't allowed to have some criticisms, it's not all hating. Like I don't have to be an actor to know bad acting when I see it, or a writer to spot a bad script. I'm not a colourist but if a movie looks off to a whole bunch of people that's fair in my mind...if its legit. All that being said though I think the actual movie is looking good from that main teaser.

So far episode 3 is my favorite. Can't wait for it to get reviewed 😊

You keep saying you haven't read the books but this really isn't based on a book except in the vaguest sense and even then it the pretty questionable Brian & Kevin Dune books.

I was disappointed by the show overall, but I stuck, and will stick around in hopes it gets better because I like _Dune._ In terms of crafts and performances it's excellent, but the storytelling and characters were meh. I agree, the last two episodes were much better, but I still wasn't shown a good reason to empathize for these characters and/or their motivations-so far I still don't like any of these f***ers 🤣
