The 400ex are even better, whiches why I like them a lot, the only thing I don’t like is that it takes a few minutes to warm it up & you have to give it gas, & if you don’t it stalls whiches normal now these days, but once it’s warmed up it runs awesome!!

I have a 2007 Honda Trx400ex & with the transmission you press down to 1st gear, then you press up to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, & reverse, there’s a knob behind the front right fender, & if your in neutral you press down twice, if your in first you press down once.

If my mom would've kept her 1999 Dodge Stratus, I could've learned how to drive a manual. She had an oil leak and took it to the shop to get it fixed and they never would fix it. That's not doing good business for someone at all. She traded it for a new 2004 Chrysler Voyager.

I have the same machine. Rode the trails in Northern WI all last summer without issue. When I first bought it, the brakes were shot. The drums were packed with dirt and sand and non-functional. I got a decent deal ($800) and after a few dollars in repairs (Mostly brake pads, carb boot and replacement Chinese carb) it was like a new machine. It had the original tires which weren't very worn, so I think it has fairly low hours. Can't wait to hit the trails again this year. Snowmobile season just ended and I got the ATV itch now.

Thanks for the video! After watching you I went and sat on it for 5 mins and got it to work just fine. After 5 years of thinking reverse just didn't work, I realized that when I push in the red R button, I have to push the clutch lever SLIGHTLY forward to get the R to push down, THEN pull it back. If I try to push the red R down as the lever sits then pull back, it doesn't allow me to lift the reverse lever.

are u sure this is the fix? I got the LB mesg on a 2 Yr old batt (OEM), I tried this reset, but didnt help. I think the trick is to do the fog lamp button push trick from Alan Brown when u install new. Without doin that, I think u have to live with LB error.
@getting_Started Жыл бұрын
Quick question, did you do the fog lamp method on your 2 year old battery in the end? Did you end up having any issues? I’ve just done that BMS reset on an older battery before reading it should only be done when replacing. I haven’t heard from anyone doing it on an older one and if it was fine or produced issues afterwards. What was your experience?
@captainfartolini4335 Жыл бұрын
@@getting_Started good question. I believe (my memory is going bad!!) I took Alan B's advice and DID NOT DO THE fog lamp method on my batt as he doesnt recommend this (I HAVE NO IDEA WHY). He had messgd me about this. I ended up replacing the battery as it died in the end and reset the counter on the new OEM one. Everything looks good now after a few years, no LB warning. Even the dealer seemed to be oblivious about reseting the counter. I think it's the best policy as on my previous OEM batt I had the LB pretty early on in its life (2 years in) and did not reset the counter on that one. In your case. Since you you have already done the reset, it would be interesting to see how things go. You might be the only one who has done this! I can tell you that doing what Alan B told (keep the vehicle locked overnight etc didnt really help much), so doing the reset in your case might actually be a good option.

I can't back this up, but I've always figured that the reverse on these was designed so you couldn't accidentally shift into reverse. I can't remember if it was a Yamaha or Suzuki but one of the first ones with reverse was too easy to shift into reverse. Of course it wasn't going to easily go into reverse at speed, but it sounded like the gearbox was digesting itself if you accidentally did it. Honda was always the leaders when it came to durability and safety, so I always thought that they tried to make it almost impossible to hit reverse by mistake.
