New Toyota rav 4 transmission is junk!

I’ve been driving a 2019 RAV4 for the last four days. I’ve never in 36 years of diving seen a vehicle so eager to unnecessarily drop into first gear from a rolling start. Sometimes it’s so hard the seat belts lock.

They all do it. I have owned 4 of them and put over 150k trouble free miles on all of them. Its normal for the RAV4 and hurts nothing

Huge Steely Dan fan - have seen them live several times. If you want to be heard clearly, you and everyone else, turn the radio off

Our 2017 rav4 has 1000 kms over warranty and the torgue converter is screwed. Shudders between gears. Toyota wont fix it. Last Toyota we ever purchase. The transmission is JUNK!

It's not all Toyotas. My dad traded the rav for a 2018 Highlander w the 8 spd and it's nice

May be engine breaking. Most cars now a days go down a few gears going down a hill in an attempt to slow you down

It did it while going in flats and uphills

Have you tried driving a manual transmission? Automatic transmission does all the shifting for you.

I have Rav4 2016.. same bad gear shifting. I am very furstrated .. this is shit Toyota Gear.. working badly Junk!!!

Your ignorant and don’t understand the features of your own vehicle. Its engine braking down hill to help slow the vehicle and maintain the set cruze speed. Turn off the cruze down hill and it will not do that but you will have to apply the brakes to slow.
