Amish country is an awesome place to visit. Been going for over 15 years now. But we find new places all the time. My sister has even thoughta out making planned packages and planned days and sell them to people.

Enjoyed the meals you prepared. The Tortellini looked so yummy. Not sure we would like the lemon pesto but you said other sauce could be used. I grew up putting sugar on my rice but as I got older did not care for it, preferred gravy on rice, lots of gravy. 😁 love your idea of sharing treats and keeping seasonal bags or containers on hand

Jasmine rice, milk,cinnamon and sugar was breakfast rice to my 3 daughters. They're grown now in their late 20s and 30s. If they are not feeling well they still call me and ask me to come make them a bowl with buttered toast.

Always enjoy your grocery hauls. I usually see something that I haven’t seen and want to try. We live in Southwest Va. about 45 mins from Boone, NC, which was hit hard along with Ashville, Mt City, Tenn, Damascus, Va. We had a lot of hard rain and strong winds and lost power for 2 days. We were fortunate to have a generator that we hooked up freezers and refrigerator to. There will be people in these Appalachian Mts. that will be without power for awhile and it will start getting cooler here in several weeks. I think this dock strike couldn’t have come at a worse time. God help this country. 🥲🙏

I cannot even imagine how hopeless it probably all seems dealing with devastation of this magnitude. You aren’t far from it. We’ve had tornado and storms that have left us without power for days & thankful for a generator these last few years. Our country certainly needs prayer and lots of it!

I am praying for all of us that got hit without real warning by this Hurricane. I am in the southwestern mountains of TN city was flooded in low lying, alot of devastation 😢 Our power was out 7 hrs with home damages but I am blessed I have a home still! It is heartbreaking

The ladies in the red hats and purple outfits are members of the Red Hat Society. If this video was taken in around the middle of July, the Red Hat group you saw at the Ashery is from Willoughby OH . We were on a day long trip to Holmes County. We also love Holmes County.

Some people would never think to put a pinch of salt in icing or frosting or some other things. I know of course some have to watch their salt but if not, it is such an enhancer. and can make all the difference. There is a reason it is in every even sweet baked goods recipes. Even when in a recipe, I will lightly very, sprinkle on tops of cookies going into the oven... if you want people raving and asking what your secret is well, there's one... Frosting or icing? YES.

i have never seen anyone but my mother make elbows and tomatoes. its one of those childhood meals that i will always remember. unfortunately... my husband does not care for it so i don't make it very often. Also, if you have home canned tomatoes, they will shine in this.

On the Tomato mac my mom used stewed tomatoes and bacon drippings one of my favorite growing up as a kid now at 66 it still is with cornbread and a slice of onion. 😀 we also make fried cabbage at least once a month.
