Grew up in Bolton, not been back for 20 years, but I bought my first records in here when I was 14. I'm really pleased it's still going! Brings back a few memories 🙂

I am from Detroit and Bowie witnessed the aftermath of the riots in Detroit in 1967 - some areas were almost post apocalyptic. Great interview! Great album.....Mike Garson is a piano god.

agreed about Garson! Thanks for your feedback. Detroit is one of the best music cities in the world.

I only now found this interesting story about the most beautiful record ever made. Interesting to hear some elements of how this album is composed/produced. I recall some elements being told in the fascinating book 'Perfect Silence' written by Ben Wardle. I have listened this album quite a few times in a dark room and eyes closed...but this story is encouraging me to do this again... Thanks for this very informative and inspiring story!

I came to this interview specifically to hear about her stories or mention of George. So disappointed. They were magical together. R.I.P., George.

I’ve always wondered about Syd and STP. This is the first time I’ve heard it mentioned in numerous books and countless interviews, but it always made sense that the Floyd landed in San Francisco maybe a month after the Owsley/Scully batch wreaked havoc on the Haight.

I bought it on release too and it remains my favourite KB album. Having said that Aerial comes close, I was lucky to catch one of her live shows in 2014, hard to believe it’s 10 years ago.

I can't believe her shows were 10 years ago as well! Very thankfully I attended the opening night - magical.

I always said Bow, as in take a bow, when pronouncing the name. Zowie, not Zoe, is apparently taken from the Batman comics to rhyme with the surname. ⚡️

It’s a cool store to visit, I just wish the floor plan was more convenient, the the vinyl is hard to look at when there is a steady stream of customers coming in and it gets crowded. Other than that, it has good selection and is the best record shop in Nebraska

Lisa, you really needed to give George Michael a lot more attention on the subject of the duet, you barely mentioned him, while you were a rising star in the early 90s at this time and your single “CHANGE” was a huge success the duet with George really elevated you to a much higher level, he obviously respected you and almost passed on a huge batton to you, I’ve heard two interviews of yours and you ignore him, please give him more respect and credit in future interviews.

Great interview. Being Canadian, we love, love, love the Diamond certified (in Canada) CRIME OF THE CENTURY! We need EVEN IN THE QUIETEST MOMENTS to be re-released and remastered on vinyl - sooner than later. It, too, is a real gem that has disappeared from the music scene. Somebody please talk with the record company to bring back EVEN IN THE QUIETEST MOMENTS. Until then...we can bask in the creative beauty of CRIME OF THE CENTURY.

Great to hear Ken Scott in the interview. He really nailed it with Supertramp and Elton John (DON'T SHOOT ME I'M ONLY THE PIANO PLAYER) and others. Interesting how long it took music engineers and producers to get that critical drum sound just right prior to recording. It certainly paid off.

What's with the photo of Mao? Was this artist just making a statement? Sort of like the Gang of Four band did with their name? Julian Cope has had some astute observations about that man too. Thanks for the info about the classic albums. P.S. I have long wanted to visit the Italian chapel on Orkney Island, a fascinating place, I would very much like to see and photograph.. Thanks for posting your video.

My favorite band with my favorite musicians... Please do a review of "Phoenix" (2008) Is a very interesting return of the original members with some sketches designed on the very 1982. Even "deya" was a Wetton song from 1976. Kind regards from México
