Rivian gives great updates. Good software tech.👍Appreciate you explaining the advantages of charging at home and road tripping and utilizing that 20 to 30 minutes to charge up as a normal comfort stop. When people talk about how fast they need to fill their car with gas and go, when on a road trip, I cannot relate, nor can I relate to needing a huge range between stops. And I drive a diesel, Mercedes. I prefer frequent breaks, and car washes that touch my car with cloth brushes cause me no concern either. Been using them for years, my cars paints all look brand new.

@@gregorycrum4182That’s a great question! If you use plug and charge - Rivian charges your credit card. If you use the Tesla app to activate the charger - Tesla charges the card. Thank you for responding, so Tesla paid to put the chargers in, Tesla must pay a lease for the location & Tesla pays the utility bill. If you use plug & charge Rivian collects the money, does Rivian send that money to Tesla being they are footing the bill? If not that is a strange & costly deal Tesla made! 🤔 Thanks again, I have been trying to find out how that works!

@@uutube243 haha. I’ve driven to Vegas from Dallas. Yes the non Tesla charging network sucks. I use my Tesla for those trips normally. I use the Cadillac Lyriq and the rivian for other trips. The MAJOR problem is the immediate giant negative equity hit to value in EV’s has spurned the second revolution of strategic “repos” like back in 2008-2009. EV repos here in vegas are at a staggering volume. Actually surpassing the banking meltdown. Time frame. Which is further accelerating the collapse of values .People are stuck with these turds you can not charge and they can not trade back in because of the massive value hit your so upside down you are stuck. EV’s have poured gasoline on the repo business…

Zero working infrastructure in most of the country. Here in vegas - Henderson we have ONE 47kw working charger. A few 6.6kw chargers. EV’s are a damn joke and I own two of them. I run into more people that have bought them and within first week trading them in taking a beating in trade in value which you lose 50% driving off the lot because no where to charge the damn things here in vegas. It’s a disaster like Southern California. Worse here we just don’t have any chargers period.

It depends on what state you live in. Here in Cali, it’s expensive, .46/kw, any time of the day, so that 1 hr of charging will cost you $4.6, about the same price as a gallon of gas. If you charge to time of use and avoid the hours 4-9pm then it’s .32/kw. However, that’s the hottest time of the day so you’ll be running your ac and paying double, .64/kw. @@ByTesla237fair enough. I think you’ve mentioned that you have free charging in other videos. Forgot about that. Luck you!

@@kevinbiggs1 yeah - no worries though - I can generally figure it out quickly based on cost per kWh and let people know what I would be spending --- that's really great info to share.

I was going from Evergreen, Co to Santa Fe, NM in my Model Y and I noticed that the Alamosa Supercharger was down. Navigation planned me to stop at Poncha Springs to charge with 47% battery. Obviously it was preplanning me to skip the broken Alamosa Superchargers. Great job Tesla!

That's amazing and a great example of how good the Tesla navigation and overall ecosystem performs. Eventually infrastructure should help overcome these types of issues by having chargers at every stop like gas stations currently; but until then Tesla is simply the best for many reasons like this.
