It all depends on pattern your hanging If your not ending say behind door in corner You need to get creative where you end it by overlapping paper and double cut not necessarily the straight line you can follow patterns go left right make it very creative Say your hanging a very bold stripe pattern and bathroom door is in middle of wall you can’t end in corner as you may end up with two is same colors next to each other I’ve been hanging paper vinyls you name it for 46 years Now say your hanging a be bold stripe paper say black

Interesting…you mention in this video to wait for the first coat to dry before you apply the second coat!!! In a more recent video you say to apply 2nd coat straight away. I left a comment on that video and your response was that it’s silliness to wait to apply second coat even though the manufacturer of the paint says to wait. So which is it…wait or not to wait , and then whichever it is you should remove one of these videos as you’re giving conflicting info 🤷🏽♂️

Is Easy Sand easier to use than Durabond? Seems like both Durabond and Easy Sand are popular plaster alternatives. Why did you choose Easy Sand? Great video, thanks for posting it!

I think your videos are some of the best on KZbin for their level of detail!! You mention applying the 2nd coat immediately. The manufacturers instructions on the tin say it takes 2hrs for the paint to dry and to wait a minimum 4hrs before you apply a 2nd coat🤷🏽♂️

@@spencercolgan interesting….as that is completely the opposite of what every other pro decorator suggests on KZbin or anywhere else…but it clearly works as you have shown…I suppose it’s having a little leap of faith with anything that takes you out of your comfort zone, out of the norm so to speak.

Spencer, do you have any tips or advice for using wheat paste? I'd like to put up a paper whose manufacturer specifies "wheat or cellulose" adhesive, over a liner. It's a newly prepped wall so I'd rather do something less complicated like use Roman 880. Is wheat paste prone to fungal problems or any other gotchas? I graduated from the Spenser Colgan school of wallpaper 2 years ago and so far, so good!

You roll it on, & then lay it off with the soft filament paint brush 🧹 The Floetrol is very good because it makes acrylic paints flow & level out like oil-based paints 👍🏻

The masking up is Good! But I noticed that there is too much brown paper sticking out! I would have trimmed the excess off the ends ok - it’s just my suggestion! 😕🥺😰🤦🏻♂️
