Why do cats eat greens?
@ameliaislandmicrogreens7 күн бұрын
This is a GREAT question! Most of us think it is because they have an upset stomach. Cats and dogs cats eat grass to make up for nutritional deficiencies in their diet, such as folic acid, which helps form hemoglobin. It also helps in digestion.

I love your channel & definitely a fan. However, I've done both gardening & growing microgreens & sprouts for years. I don't think it is necessary to criticize gardening to promote growing microgreens. And no one has to weed weekly. Micro is micro & if you wish to have volume, you need macro. Being outside & gardening, getting some sun and fresh air, rain, whatever cannot be replaced.

Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know how this topic landed with you! I really do appreciate your feedback. I also agree with your comment! I have joint challenges from a genetic disorder so outdoor gardening and yard work are so painful for me. I can see where my hope that others who have painful joints or are otherwise unable to do that type of outdoor activities would find this exciting and hopeful could be taken as trying to deter others from gardening at all. You are absolutely on spot that this does not have to be an either or decision. I am humbled to know that is how it came across for you. Please know I mean it in the spirit of hope for those who are, like me, unable to preform those tasks, and not meant as anything other than that!

Don't freeze as it kills its soul.
@ameliaislandmicrogreens15 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment! We don't freeze our microgreens wither. We do have a friend who does freeze the leftovers.... better than not having any or throwing them out. Freeze dried is a good option if you have access to a freezedryer.
@YogaMahaLakshmiKanchiSilks15 күн бұрын
@@ameliaislandmicrogreens Shadow drying may retain most of the nutrients. Best option

Can you eat the roots of your microgreen after you wash them of course.
@ameliaislandmicrogreens15 күн бұрын
Yes you can and many do! Most don;t take the time to rinse and clean. Since it is so cheap to grow a tray, most of us just cut at the base. My dad love to eat the whole pea when we grow pea microgreens.
