@@CleverHooves Honestly, it's strange to sometimes see people in this fandom who are in their 40s, which is the same age as my parents. What's even stranger is that I'm already an adult and my parents are still young, while other people of this age have children that are much younger.

@@mrmlpvideogerman I like to think that the good story telling, whimsical art, amazing cast is what attracted both my daughter and eventually myself and my wife. Finding an amazing and welcoming community of creators that fueled the fandom was a stroke of luck that I’m thankful for. Learning how to put together readings and practicing the craft of voice over has been good for me over the past few years. Ponies make me happy, and they seem to bring others joy as well. I wish more folks in my age group embraced activities that brought them joy. Being worried what others think stops a lot of people from doing what makes them happy. My only regret is not having found the fandom sooner.

@@CleverHooves I regret that too. On the other hand, because I was still a stupid child when I first saw the show, so I'm still glad that I didn't get into this fandom until years later.

You’re right. Grief is not a linear process. States/stages get revisited. The holidays are often a bittersweet time for many people as the smells in the air, the time of year, the traditions bring about old memories. It’s a cultural experience we should share more stories of to reduce stigma and help people feel less isolated.

Hi, Terry! Yes, I did see your comment on TWW. For you or anyone else curious about getting involved in MLP audio readings/dramas... watch out for casting calls. I've had one in the past (for "What Hurts The Most"), and I've participated in many myself (Agent0Fluffy has them regularly, ObabScribbler has them occasionally, and even Magpiepony has had them for Princess Trixie Sparkle 2). The community of fandom MLP VAs/VOs is a bit of a 'small world', so getting into a project or two with a couple of different productions is a good way to hear about other opportunities that come up. My biggest tips are these: #1 Be nice (you may not get leading parts right away, and that's okay; what's not okay is kvetching about it to any/everypony). #2 A great performance can make up for a lot (less than ideal microphone quality, less than perfect voice matching, less than perfect adherence to script). All of those things are important, but *the* *most* important is performance. Whether I audition for KATRP or not, if you're interested is becoming a VA, I encourage you to find auditions and try it out. I know that my life has changed and I've made some great friends since I first started auditioning.
