Oh gosh, I’m sorry your first reconstruction was a disappointment. The initial latissimus dorsi flap surgery, for me, was channeling the muscle under the skin from the back to the front, the skin graph from back to front, and placement of the tissue expanders. The first few weeks are the hardest. It gets better when the drains come out, but still easy does it for 4-6 weeks. Then, for me, it was a few months of filling the expanders before the exchange surgery for implants. I hope this helps! If I can help support you please let me know. 💗💗

Thank you so much for sharing, I have an upcoming surgery due to breast cancer. I know that a large amount of lymph nodes will be removed. I tried to delay the surgery to see if lymph nodes would respond better to treatment. However they have shrunk with two rounds of chemo but after that my body reacted horribly to chemo I had to stop. I have an option to do hormone therapy to see if it will shrink the area of lymph nodes that have to be removed but they will not know if it’s working until 18 months. The breast that’s going to be removed and lymph nodes are on my dominate arm and hand side. This is why I want to make the best decisions. I really appreciate your video, you are beautiful inside and out! ❤

You have to wipe off hydration before radiation treatment, but I actually brought some and applied immediately after and every time I thought of it throughout the day. I’m sending you so much love! @liveyourbestlifecoach I actually ended up with a spigelian hernia with colon stuck in it. It was really painful. My primary doctor did an urgent referral to a surgeon. Had surgery last Thursday, the 22nd, to correct it. He did an open repair and 2 layers of mesh. With the Taxol, be aware of the chronic constipation. I did OK with the first 5. The sixth one kind of took me over the edge. I wish I had stopped at 5. The taxol is cumulative and the side effects increase with each treatment. My oncologist did stop my chemotherapy for good after the side effects with the sixth. Prayers for you on this journey.

@ChantelPurcell-One-to-One3 ай бұрын
Hi Sister! I am so grateful this was helpful information for you! Without knowing your numbers, my instinct is that you will probably be okay … even if you feel you have an extra 50ml. From what I have learned, we typically want to over expand because implants are softer than expanders, so it often takes a little extra cc’s in the implant to equal the look of the expander cc’s. (I hope that makes sense.) For example, if you like the look of 450 cc’s in your expanders, you might need to go closer to a 500 cc for your implant. If I can support you in any way, please let me know. I did not have the best experience with my first implant exchange, and was devastated. If I can help another sister avoid that… I am here for it! Sending you lots of love and survivor-sister spirit! 🥰💞💞

BC is so hard. I told my team again and again that I wanted small, effortless boobs. I'm small and was expanded to 210 - which looks way way bigger than I wanted. I loved how I looked before the expanders were filled. But again, no one listens. This process is really frustrating because there isn't a conversation around our goals as patients. I'm getting foobs like the plastic surgeon likes to do but my goals were to never, ever need a bra again, and be like a size A, even if I have to lose my nipples. But again, no time for what we want in this process.
@ChantelPurcell-One-to-One3 ай бұрын
Preach girl!!! There needs to be more conversation about our desires and expectations for reconstruction!! I am so sorry you feel unheard! 😔 Without knowing all of your numbers, I am hopeful that the expander to implant conversion might help your situation … even if you feel you are larger than your desired outcome with your expanders. From what I have learned, we typically want to over expand because implants are softer than expanders, so the same cc’s in an implant will look smaller. For example, if you like the look of 150 cc’s in your expanders, you might need to go expand a bit more, then closer to 200 cc for your implant. I will share that I reconstructed to roughly a 34C, and do not have to wear a bra! I did for the first year till they sort of settled in, but now, not so much. I hope this helps. If I can answer any questions for you… Please let me know! Sending sending you lots of love and sister strength! 💪💞💞

Never should a person do chemo according to the Bible. 1 Corinthians verses 11-15 says your hair is your glory. ( God is warning you) There are so many treatment options for those who do deep dives that work that are non toxic, painless. Treatments that work are serving up platters of oxygen which cancer cells HATE BY GOING INTO A HYPERBARIC OXYGEN CHAMBER ( $125 for one hour) , Ivermectin ( Nobel prize winning drug that does a number on your immune system to kick cancers ass) apricot seeds which seem to work for the HUNZA people in northern Pakistan who live to be 100-120. These seeds were banned in the 1950’s because they cure cancer ( $38.00 for 16 oz bag.) no need whatsoever for double mastectomy, chemo, radiation or endocrine therapy, even biopsies spread the cancer. I just hate when people hop on the chemo conveyor belt and do no research, so very sad. There are also high dose Vitamin C IV’s. Just so many things besides all this garbage, steroids ( make you gain weight) pain killers, it’s all so sick what people do when they make ignorant decisions

This can’t be an easy thing to go through. 🫂 My SIL is doing really well. She had the drains taken out last week. That was a relief for her, as she was really grossed out by them. She’s not too sore from the tissue expanders, thankfully! She had to postpone her trip to visit us in the UK because of the timing of the surgery, but she’ll be coming over in a month, even with the expanders still in. Hoping she’ll be OK with the long flights here and back to the US. She’s my best friend and I can’t wait to see her! ❤️ Haven’t been able to visit with her since November 2019, so it’s been far too long! If you have any tips for travelling with her expanders in that I could pass on, I’d be very grateful. If not, that’s OK. 😊😘💞

@@lydiahenry8266 I love that your SIL is your best friend! She is blessed to have you! You two are certainly overdue a visit. I hope she can make the trip soon. If she will fly with the tissue expanders, she might want a note from her doctor explaining the metal in her breasts. The tissue expander itself is made of silicone. However, the port where they do the fills has metal. It could trigger a detector or show on a body scan at the airport. Wishing you health and happiness! ♥️

Hello sweetheart! God bless you always!🙏🏻❤️ Can you please tell me, if you feel the burning sensation under your arm, after the flap, and the removal of yours lymph nodes? You have 20 removed, I just had 5 removed, but the sensation is so annoying, is always burning, especially if I stretch. Please help me sweetheart. Thank you so much.

Hello Sweetheart! How did I miss your message? My apology! Yes, I do feel a burning type of pain under my arms. It sometimes feels like the skin is tearing or something… a difficult feeling to describe. In my optimism, I try telling myself it has gotten better, in that maybe it happens less frequently. How are you doing now that some time has passed? Sending you so much love! 😘💞💞
