Robert Downey, Jr. could have been a silent film star, he has the most expessive face and eyes, he was magical in this film. Always amazing to watch, he became Chaplin. Moira Kelly plays two roles and both times where Chaplin is in love. The drunk vaudevillian scene alone should have won an Oscar for him. So glad he finally got one for Oppenheimer.Chaplin is a great movie.

So weird, like a 19th century violin virtuoso and his accompanist have travelled back in time to share his music with people of the previous century!

Heifetz greatly admired Fodor's staccato & would walk around him closely examining his technique; not that he was jealous, but to see how he did it. Of course, Heifetz could do the same thing. He was merely impressed to see someone else play something like he was able to play it. I used to attend Fodor's concerts whenever I had the chance; i.e., whenever he was in L.A. & Orange County. No one today matches his technique, & he never used a crutch under his violin as far as I know.

The guy in the balcony is John Thaw playing Fred Karno. Fred Karno basically created cinema slapstick and comedy before cinema was invented. Hollywood owes him a huge thanks.

Mauvai biopic sur chaplin et beaucoups d erreurs et voir le film en versions est insupportable a la limite en vost mais en français qu' elle catastrophe et notamment dans la scène du discourt humaniste de la fin de la scène de reconstitution du dictateur.

Saw them at Lupo's Heart Break Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. I still have the cd. And still listen to it. I remember the drummer playing a two faded kit. But remember what kind of kit it was.

The fact that he knows the exact page his evening and proposal with Hetty takes place shows how much she meant to him, even in his latter years.

This particular show was Charlie Chaplin's turning point, the exact moment where his fame started. Robert Downey Jr. lived and looked Chaplin's character. He is a unique actor.

Hetty Kelly: Chaplin's first love. Oona O'Neil: Chaplin's last and probably the most important love. Both characters were performed by the same actress; Moira Kelly. Interesting.

This movie is a bit like Dragon starring Jason Scott Lee. That was a highly underrated performance, but a jolly good movie. However, there were a lot of great movies to contend with in 1992 such as Silence of the Lambs, Beauty and the Beast, JFK and Bugsy, to name but a few, and RDJ wasn't too well known yet.
