Robert Downey, Jr. could have been a silent film star, he has the most expessive face and eyes, he was magical in this film. Always amazing to watch, he became Chaplin. Moira Kelly plays two roles and both times where Chaplin is in love. The drunk vaudevillian scene alone should have won an Oscar for him. So glad he finally got one for Oppenheimer.Chaplin is a great movie.

02:08 "Will you marry me ?" His proposal is so emotionnal. Asking her is jumping over the edge. While having a much better dinner with street food... His love for her is deep. Her eyes and smile come from Heaven. This moment is unique, is theirs. For ever. Best part of their lives, whatever comes next. :-)

As a fan of Chaplin. ..his story of hetty is beautiful story ...Chaplin said that hetty was the main reason for most of his inspirations in films ...hetty and Chaplin were never a couple ... she never even kissed him ...and refuse to marry him... but later òn Chaplin became the most famous entertainer in the world ... but losing hetty and memories of her ...made him inspire romance in his films and music... Chaplin story reflects my story ... it's really strange how Chaplin career made a great impact from hetty ... great movie and also great story of chaplin

I'm sure Mr. Chaplin is compete and had all of his tears wiped clean in Heaven. Some people only meet their soulmates for a short time on Earth.

Story of Chaplin the movie is one of my favorites ... what many don't know the actress in the movie played two roles first as hetty and also as onna.. because both looked the same ... Chaplin movie is about parallel reality... Chaplin career of movies was because of love to hetty later on to marry onna in the movie ... it's like an awakening in Chaplin life and career ...

The fact that he knows the exact page his evening and proposal with Hetty takes place shows how much she meant to him, even in his latter years.

Wonder what would have happened to Chaplin if he HAD married Hetty? Would they have stayed together for their lives? Would they have been happy together? Hetty maybe should have said "yes" to him. Would he have healed many of the wounds he had inside? But I wouldn't marry someone either whom I've known only minutes. Guess we'll never know, will we. Robert Downy DEFINITELY deserved the Oscar, and was robbed of it, in my opinion. Superb job Robert!

1:10 If you look at the number 21, next to it is written, Mr. Charles Chaplin. His name was in the book. They just didn’t want to let him in because he was poor and a commoner. It’s really sad at how prejudice some people can be.

Hetty Kelly: Chaplin's first love. Oona O'Neil: Chaplin's last and probably the most important love. Both characters were performed by the same actress; Moira Kelly. Interesting.

Mauvai biopic sur chaplin et beaucoups d erreurs et voir le film en versions est insupportable a la limite en vost mais en français qu' elle catastrophe et notamment dans la scène du discourt humaniste de la fin de la scène de reconstitution du dictateur.
