Btw the characters in poor pierot are all carnival masks which were also used in real theaters or which people dressed up as during carnival (which is basically european halloween but it's euphoric instead of spooky)

6:44 1. Projecting an existing movement isn't an illusion 2. If you consider this movement animation, then animation is thousands of years old.

2:12 100% disagree with that definition. Applying that, every movie ever released would be called animation, since those are just still images shown in succession, at the end of the day. Playing a video game or holding down the A key in a text document would make you an animator. It just doesn't make any sense.

0:10 I'd call that puppetry, not animation. You could do the exact same thing with a real puppet, given the right tools, and we wouldn't call that animation either, just advanced puppetry. Puppetry doesn't suddenly fundamentally change, just because you put it into another medium (like a virtual space), so I don't see why this is considered animation.

i saw this vid a couple months back, and since like last year ive wanted to learn blender, this just made me want to learn it more! i dont have a laptop, but i think i might be able to convince my parents to get me one for video production/blender!

Howdy! I drew directly on the UVs and used multiple different images for different parts. Like the Valve pink and black checker board, and I drew over that to make it look like the original blank texture was scratched away
