I found a pair of needle nose pliers worked well for holding the bolts to tighten the screws. I don’t have the set that you used, so a great substitute. Many thanks for your video! From Ontario Canada

Many mitered screen doors use press fit corners that are 1.125" x 0.406", the roller I show here fits the corner that I sell on my website www.fixingscreens.com. I use these rollers and corners to replace broken worn out corners that look different but have the same overall dimensions. These rollers are corners fit maybe 90% of mitered style screen doors.

Do you have a video on how to remove one of these B513 roller assemblies from the frame? I have 4 of them to remove and they do not want to come out at all, all screws are removed and door frame is disassembled.

Thanks for the video. May I suggest a cameraman next time so you can use both hands and show us how you got the corner out and the roller in? How can you replace just one corner?

So you've replaced a super common roller and corner with a very uncommon one. Why would you want to do that? You even said it is very common. You can easily replace the plastic wheel with a metal ball bearing wheel without removing the mesh or corners. Sounds like 10 times more work than what was required.
@AdrianDunevein6 жыл бұрын
You are right, in some cases you can replace a nylon roller with a steel ball bearing roller but those housings have cheap wire springs that often fall apart while you are trying to install them. Or worse fall apart shortly after you have put the door back in. Very often doors will have broken corners as well as missing or broken rollers. Better to overhaul the whole door with all new parts and have it working properly for years afterward.
@connormacleod25726 жыл бұрын
I've worked on hundreds of these doors with these corners. The only time I've seen them broken is when they use a plastic corner. I'll agree, the springs aren't the greatest, but much easier to replace than the whole corner. 9 times out of 10, the top rollers don't even make a difference at all.

what kind of software you use it?

If the corner is still in one piece, I usually hammer it out with a rubber mallet. If its broken, and a piece is stuck inside the frame, I use an awl to poke and hook onto part of the corner inside the frame then slowly lever it out. If the pice refuses to come out easily you can also drive it further into the frame to make room for a new corner. Gonna have to make a new broken MRSA corners video !

Don't ignore this video just because the sound quality isn't that great... I struggled for over an hour after watching the high quality video on this topic..This video clip saved my from having to go buy a new screen door. Where he puts the screwdriver..in front of the wheel.. allows you to get enough leverage to open the thing up and get it over the post. It was the step I needed to get the part to go back in my screen door.

thanks i have an old edwardian home - it has a mortice lock - it works fine but i wish to put a push plate on the door and i can't seem to remove the handles from the door...i've unscrewed the little screw that is in the handle and remove the cover of he lock ect.....whats the trick with removing the door handle as i'm stumped!
@AdrianDunevein13 жыл бұрын
Thats possible, but many locks can be removed through the mortised hole in the frame. Try grabbing the extended latch hook with a pair of locking pliers before you remove the screws and rotating the whole lock slowly forward to see if it will tip out through the mortise. The locking pliers will stop the lock falling and give you time to fiddle with it to get it out.
@1kzrider13 жыл бұрын
Thanks I have to replace mine. I just do not know how to remove the lock it appears you have to remove the whole door because if I remove the two screws it only drops to bottom of door.
