Excellent short video of the wensleydale railway's redmire terminus... which'll hopefully see the return of passenger trains back up that very part of the dale to the remote location that's currently waiting for said return of train rides out there.... especially from when that three mile-stretch of the line is restored/upgraded in the foreseeable future.

The Clyde Tunnel isn't "nearby", it's about 2.5 miles upstream, between Whiteinch and Partick, with Govan on the other side. It was opened in 1963, while the Renfrew Ferry continued to carry vehicles until 1984. One isn't really related to the other. The tunnel replaced the old Govan Ferry.

I have just come across a TV programme about this swimming pool. It was started in 1899. It may have been abandoned in WWI because of the level of maintenance needed. They dismiss the story of the pool being built as the Solway was so dangerous.

Used the station in the mid to late 1960's, as a member of 16th Prston Catholic College Scouts, spending our summer camp at Inverailort House, with Mrs Cameron Head. 1st visit we were billeted in the former commando huts; the 2nd after the fish farm opened, in the "castle" itself. Oh such memorable, happy days!!

Thank you for the tour of Morton Castle. My name is Ian Robert Morton. My 3rd great grand father, John Morton, was sent to Australia as a convict around 1840. I dare say my ancestral fathers came from this region. The name Morton derived from the place description town beside the moor.

Hi, I saw some of your previous videos (from years ago) about abandoned train stations in Glasgow. I’ve been inside the botanic gardens to kelvin bridge tunnel and the old Maryhill station underneath the Tesco, and was wondering if you knew other ways into any other tunnels? The Possil - Maryhill tunnel was filled with rubble from the Maryhill side, but if you’re able to get into the other side? Thanks

Hello, I have noted that officialdom has sealed up entrances and re-openings have also happened! The Clyde pedestrian tunnel I think opens occasionally. Sorry.

Extant pre reformation churches are so rare in Scotland - this is very extravagant architecture. Fyi The Carmichaels are still around and Carnwrath was last in the news whilst being hassled by uninspiring morons in Lanarkshire council for producing Blue Cheese….
