what happens if we upload an 8k image? will it over-compress it to below 1080p?
@DesignPilot
@DesignPilot 7 күн бұрын
It will not reduce the resolution. It will reduce the quality. But you’re unnecessarily increasing the load time of images for no reason. The image doesn’t need 8000px it needs only 1080pixels

For the first question A Cred's Active user would be someone who: - Actively uses creds features like cred UPI, managing their credit cards bills, paying the payment. - They promote the app to their friends and basically speak good about it. For the 2nd question, Airbnb can track their update by: - Checking increase in no.of bookings for the homes that were rated on high percentile compared to their past bookings. - This will tell them that has this feature helped in more bookings for the home and leading to validation of the problem that users found difficulty in making the decision between good and best homes.

Thanks for the simplified understanding! Here's my thought. Cred, as a fintech app, offers a variety of features and services, each with its own usage patterns and audience engagement. Therefore, the definition of an “active user” should vary depending on the feature. Here’s a breakdown of how I would define and measure Cred’s active users: 1. UPI Feature • UPI transactions have become an integral part of daily life, with 4-5 transactions per day being quite normal for many users. • Active User Definition: At least 1-2 transactions per day could define an active user. For a more relaxed metric, 3-4 transactions per week might suffice, depending on the user demographic and transaction frequency. • Metric: Daily Active Users (DAU) is the most appropriate metric for UPI usage due to its high-frequency nature. 2. Credit Card Management & Payments • Credit card payments are cyclical, often tied to monthly billing cycles. • Active User Definition: Users making at least one credit card payment per month would fit the active user criteria for payment-related features. For those who regularly monitor their finances, checking expenses weekly could define activity. • Metrics: Monthly Active Users (MAU) for payments. • Weekly Active Users (WAU) for expense tracking and financial monitoring features. 3. Bill Payments and Rent Services • Why it’s unique: These payments are typically infrequent, occurring on a monthly or even quarterly basis. • Active User Definition: At least one transaction every 1-3 months could qualify a user as active for these services. • Metric: Monthly Active Users (MAU) or Quarterly Active Users (QAU) might be better suited for tracking engagement in this category. 4. Engagement Features (e.g., Gamified Bonuses and Gimmicks) • Why it’s unique: Features like “chances to win a bonus prize” are designed to encourage engagement, even if users perceive them as gimmicks. These tend to have a playful, recurring appeal. • Active User Definition: Participation in such activities once a week could define an active user for these features. • Metric: Weekly Active Users (WAU) is appropriate for tracking these engagement-driven interactions.

@DesignPilot
@DesignPilot Ай бұрын
You need to use Transition when moving to a Blend State, because blend states are controlled by an input. The blend state itself has no animation. You use exit times when you want to move to the next animation after the previous one has been completed. And that means the previous is a timeline that has the animation already created inside. Try to watch the video again, you’ll understand.

Hi Chethan, I’m a fresher working as a free intern UI/UX designer at an early-stage startup. The startup has two parts: a product (with the MVP expected to go live by March) and a software agency that mostly works on websites and landing pages. (I had seen some of your videos which you had mentioned better not to join design agencies) I feel I’m not learning much about problem-solving. I took this as I had no other opportunities. After 2 months, they’ll convert me to full-time for 15k/month. What’s your advice on my situation?

Chethan, I don't know I should ask this or not. I have just watched all your videos on using GPT to solve problem statements and definitely learned so so much. But I am very confused about ONE THING. Is it really okay to take the help of GPT to solve the design assignments. I don't know why but when I do that , I feel I'm doing cheating or something. If chatgpt is giving me all the good insights and answers , and I just have to pick the good and sensible ones, how this can improve our Problem solving skills. See.....I have huge trust on you and I have always followed you to learn every small thing that's why I want to get a good clarity on it. And last question, If I used GPT to get the research insights for my Case study projects, Can I mention that in my interviews that I have used chatGpt for the User research and personas??? Please simplify this for me!!
@DesignPilot
@DesignPilot Ай бұрын
I think this is a great and valid question. 1. As a designer, the process boils down to three key steps: asking the right questions, interpreting the answers, and designing a solution to validate those insights. 2. Asking the right questions is where it all starts, which is something you need to do on your own. Sure, it can guide you in identifying what to ask, but that's only if you want it to. Hence, how you use it is left to you. 3. If you’re still learning how to ask the right questions, ChatGPT can be an excellent mentor. It does a phenomenal job if you’re still honing these skills. But as you get the hang of things, you should let ChatGPT assist only when validating your approach. 4. Using ChatGPT to solve problems outright isn’t ideal unless you’re validating your solution. Early on, it’s okay to let it guide you, but over time, it should help you refine something you’ve already started, not replace your thinking entirely. You learn best by allowing yourself to make mistakes and correct them. 5. Think of it like assembling a Lego set. Instructions are helpful, but if you understand why certain steps are in place, you’ll eventually build without needing them. Recognizing patterns and understanding the “why” is crucial to long-term growth. 6. Learning to notice patterns is a never-ending process. In real-world scenarios, asking stakeholders the right questions is your job. That’s why for me, a whiteboarding round is the ultimate test-they show you where you really stand or if you've been delusional all this time. 7. Everyone uses ChatGPT today, so mentioning it in a case study isn’t a big deal although I prefer not to do it. What matters is how well you participate in interviews. If you’ve used ChatGPT to enhance your work, not do it for you, you’ll be in a much stronger position to ask the right questions, defend your solutions, and even challenge the questions of the interviewer. 8. For example, if you used ChatGPT to solve a problem for Persona A and were asked about Persona B in an interview, the real test lies in your ability to adapt. It’s not about the tool-it’s about asking the right questions, analyzing answers, and making logical assumptions to solve problems. 9. Bottom line-whatever you use ChatGPT for, you must be able to replicate the results without it if needed. Yes, it might take 100x more time and effort to achieve a similar outcome, but if you can’t do it on your own, you’ve become a slave to the tool and have dug your own grave. Use ChatGPT to either enhance what you’re already good at, making you faster and more efficient, or let it help take you from 80% to 100%. It should never be a shortcut to go from 20% to 100%.
