On the basis of the service you'd think it would be a coin flip between Gabriel and Richard possibly leaning towards Gabriel for elimination because this was second bad service BUT DeMarco's hideous nomination record and lack of improvement couldn't be ignored he'd been nominated 5 times in a row a new HK record beating the previous record set by Virginia in HK2 who managed 4 in a row.

There were 4 very good nominees for eliminations here in Beth, DeMarco, Simone and Gabriel. Nicole's total lack of passion just simply couldn't be ignored has there ever been a chef that showed less passion than Nicole did this season or any HK season answers in the comments. She was pathetic long overdue elimination much to Kashia's delight.

HK5 the start of the golden era of the HK the chefs were at their most hungry and Gordon was at his most angry. One of the biggest shocks of HK4 was that after Josh became the first chef in HK history to be ejected from the competition during a dinner service in HK3 none of the chefs in HK4 suffered the same fate. But Gordon made up for lost time as it were and ejected 2 chefs back to back J who had one of most forgotten declines of all time and Lacey one of the most hated chefs of all time who just waved the white flag.

Dave is great and we all respect his spirit of never giving up.

I like listening to this without the dramatic music, but I think what I like more is that it makes it clear that once they’re doing service the “let’s make entertaining television” thought goes out the window. He isn’t insulting them to goad them, and he isn’t yelling because it gets good ratings. It feels like he really cares that the food going out is good, and when things are good he says so

I remember it being because she was a hit too timid to be head chef of a restaurant but she was in the final five. Gordon did this on purpose (as one of those exercises during service to ensure they spot mistakes) in order to bring out a more professional and stern side to her
