Our group of Japanese will be going to Rakiura Track next week on 2024/11/29. We want to see kiwi birds. Can you tell us where we can find kiwi birds?
@RosieWalks1Ай бұрын
@ very cool! We woke up early (5:00am) and walked up the track with our head torches set on red light. You can also sometimes see them around town in the early hours of the morning. Very cool!! Enjoy your trip.

@@RosieWalks1 Thank you for the info. We also get up early and walk with red cellophane on our lights. We'd be happy if we could see a kiwi.

So why did you go up via Tengboche when there is a much more impressive high trail on the opposite side of the valley going via Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche? The High Scenic Trail offers vastly better views high across the valley, lots of wildlife and practically no other trekkers. Tengboche can be visited on the way down.
@RosieWalks1 Жыл бұрын
I agree! We decided to come back via Mong La - Phortse - Pangboche, so we didn’t miss the spectacular views that you talk about 😊
@karipintakivi9153 Жыл бұрын
@@RosieWalks1 Great! I feel the High Trail is most spectacular on the way up facing the mountains with fresh eyes, but coming down that way is better than trudging through Tengboche twice anyway.

I walked that one night and day camped where we got tired, not even being sure if those were the camp grounds we booked but it was so fun. Good video guys :)
