One of the strangest collaborations. You'd think Al and Ian would be so different and yet. I guess music unites.

Basically they just bumped into each other at Southern Studios one day, not exactly a serious 'project', just Ian Mackaye bunging some lyrics vocals on something by this geezer he'd never met before, because why not.

I was living in Chitown and the chatter around Wax Trax! was that the sessions were a mess and that Ian was livid because Al spent most of the sessions in the bathroom, with Ian at one point yelling "I know what you're doing in there!" to no avail. Still, hard to argue with the results, limited as they are (only five finished tracks, but two are stone-cold anthems).

Knowing how terrible and irredeemable mankind is, they should surrender
