Lareine tell a single big story with their music. In its center are Jeremie and Lillie, who are reborn in different eras and whose tragic love story spans across time. The Lillie Charlotte EP tells about the death of Lillie during a past century (maybe 17th or 18th century) and Jeremie who was unable to stop it. Then, during the whole Romance Kakumei era, there was a theme of reincarnation. The single Metamorphose and the following album cycle of Fierté, to which Fiancailles belongs, begin telling the story in contemporary times (the turn of the century from 1999 on). The jist is basically that modern day Jeremie (Asphodel) loves modern day Lillie (Justicia), who got letters from her past incarnation, informing her about the situation. Justicia/Lillie is in love with the blue illusion (=past Jeremie) without being able to recognize Asphodel as his reincarnation (Asphodel is completely unaware of everything iirc). The cyclic nature of their seemingly always-to-be-doomed love and the general theme of the passage of time are underlined in the usage of the motif of passing seasons. I think some later songs/works reference another time period (like around the year 900). Songs like Scarlet Majesty. I would honestly love for my brain to be as capable memorizing stuff when it came to something helpful, useful or productive.

この曲しかりV系ってメロディー、フック、キャッチーさ、世界観良いの多いから歌含めて演奏技術低いのが残念なんだよなー。もちろん上手いバンドもいるけど、ベースとか無駄に歪みすぎてたりするの多いのが個人的にはほんとに勿体無い！

Yes, every time I hear this live version of “gerbe” I feel that way too. The lyrics is so bright and shine; talking about flowers, spring and shimmering feelings spreading all around. It often lead me to tears too. Glad to help you keep alive that feeling!
