Lovely moment at 29 minutes in: I always notice that in certain books of long ago (in Sherlock Holmes, or in the books of miles franklin, george gissing and other late 19th century/early 20th century) travellers (including 'tramps') were called 'gentlemen of the road'. I always liked that phrase. And I agree with this gentleman, that how a man behaves (whether he is a strong/secure enough person to be kind to others, for example) is most significant. I have romany heritage and this film is lovely - thankyou 🌻

I enjoyed this and learnt a few things - but many of the horses shown were not having a good time, especially the ones being trotted on hard roads by young men hauling them about their mouths. The old ways are not always the best.

Thank you for commenting on the pony in reference to its home environment and purpose. The way people breed now to please twisted minds in the show ring instead of what the breed evolved to or was originally bred for makes me sad. Arabians for example, used to be strong and majestic, able to withstand harsh environments. Now, many look like mutants from outer space. I hope that never happens to the Fells.

So how come this 8s the only one still up and not removed? It looks a lot like you have stolen this added some bullshit about gypsies when there plainly isn't a single one in the video and reported everyone else who is sharing it the new age Travellers who this is actually about
@fellponyadventures9194
@fellponyadventures9194 5 ай бұрын
Hi. I'm not sure what you mean about it being stolen? I filmed all of this footage in 1995. It doesn't mention gypsies anywhere in the film. Romany Rai is a 60 minute film about Appleby Fair whilst travelling with my ponies over 20 years and the people who go there. What do you mean reported everyone else?

That way of breaking is ridiculous, it's forcing the poor thing. I had mine handled from about six months, they would stand tied up from about ten months, harness about a year, and walking in hand all over the place from a year old .
