Hi I just got my PP 750 snow peak last week. Looking to increase the power. I was told to cut the hammer spring. Second stage would be to adjust the regulator take the gun apart and the third one is to do some Drilling so there's three steps as far as I understand. I don't want to go too crazy because I want to keep the shot count around 40 with a 22 caliber. Probably around 14 FPE. What's your opinion?

Uhm, not to be a whiny cunt, but spindle rebuilds should be undertaken with more care and much higher scrutiny... The emco in their infinite wisdom state that preload of the bearings and their setting is crucial to spindle assembly, as if that were not the case with any high precision spindle in the world... But your ramming of the roller bearing in there is a terror to behold... Emco state and tho it may strictly be optimal only for their custom bearing, it surely would benefit your assembly aswell... I am paraphrasing and remembering, so it aint a quote, but i think that emco state to heat up the quill/spindle housing to 80 celsius, cool the spindle shaft to -20 celsius and keep the bearing at 20 celsius or room temp... The bearing should thusly slide freely into the spindle housing(lubing was a generally good idea, the bearing should be retained by the friction fit, so lube can not allow it to slip either way, its only there as a corrosion preventative... And the shaft should in the same manner slide in the bearing(meaning that your shaft is too loose in tolerance as per the oem standard, as it should not be able to slide over the bearing at same temperature... The fit should likely be sub micron interference fit to keep the rollers preloaded under any condition and in every direction, as to provide absolute minimal axial wobble, akin to tri-lobed bronze bearings in some ultra high spec. horizontal spindles... The needle bearing should likely have been extracted by heating the quill from outside and blasting the bearing with lighter gas can upside down, to let the liquid butane or propane to rapidly chill the bearing, separating it from the quill housing on a micron level and thus allowing you to pull it out quickly without any level of wear on the bearing seat... Likewise should have been done with the top bearing... I have the same machine and have not taken my spindle apart, as i intend to make a custom replacement spindle that will not use the needle bearing, but will have its own quill that shall take up 3 angular contact bearings, a duplex backed by a single rear bearing with a spring cartridge... As is done in some ultra high precision lathe spindles.... FB2 is a lovely machine... Mine is practically perfect in regards to tir when all locks are slightly engaged, and if the head is trammed, when the column lock is engaged, the spindle leans upward to perfect 90 to the table from all sides... So take care of it, as i assume yours cant be made worse... Its a great little machine that can do wonders with patience and intimate knowledge of its specificities... I know this is a late to buffet comment, but all the same, you have my kindest regards and warmest wishes... Steuss

Curious if those aluminum micro module gears hold up. No idea why they switched back, the original Metanium MGL and the 2013 Metanium both had issues with their micro module gears. I was also fearful of the new Aldebaran BFS for the same reason. Worst case scenario, you can order the brass gears from the 2020 Metanium MGL and place them in the shallow edition. Just would like to hear how the smoothness is holding up. I made the mistake of buying a Conquest and now I judge all other Shimanos to that standard.

I bought this one, it's absolutley awsome! Expensive, but worth it, will have for many years to come.
