I know that is blower is not required for decks 42" and smaller, but what about a 48" bed? I have the X350 with 48" mower bed. And a GREAT job with your video!
@MillsEngineWorks4 ай бұрын
As far I know, the 48" deck requires a blower. John Deere refers to their blowers as "power flows".

@MillsEngineWorks6 ай бұрын
I think a '17 and a '19 would be the same. A '20 may be the year they updated, but I don't remember. The big difference is the engine size. Pre update is and 18.5 HP where as the updated is 21.5(?) HP. As for my mower: I think it's a good mower. Plenty of power and easy to use.

Good job. Did you dump out the old fuel first before starting it? Also check for spark with a tester.

I did not dump the old fuel out. With the way gas prices are, I didn't want to waste it. I put some Seafoam in it. It runs fine. I did have a spark tester. Can be seen at 1:08

IMO, the k46 is a good transmission. I just wish it was serviceable.
@elijahbey33667 ай бұрын
@@MillsEngineWorks I think I will probably take the K46 off the mower and drain and refill with fresh Tuff Torq hydrostatic trans oil once I hit 50 hours, then every 200 hours thereafter. Some people also remove the bottom of the case to get to and replace the screen filter inside. I might do that at some point also, but not until the warranty expires.

You can pull the bottom pin out, purchase a5/16" thick x 15" flat piece of metal, drill the same size hole as the pin in both ends (extend a hitch) i call it and leave the bagger on and pull whatever behind the bagger

From your example it looks like a JR attachment to the mower for collecting clippings would be better for me since I have at least 3x larger lawn to mow unless what you show here is only a portion of what area you mowed. The larger powered attachment would cost another 4-6 hundred dollars, but the capacity and power assist to blow the leaves and clippings to a much bigger collector would be better for me. Thanks for the info.

It would have been nice to NOT Time lapse - The details are where we get questions - we can fast forward if it's boring or we get it - but in time lapse we have no idea if there are any issues, or close-ups to see exactly how its done. I have a x 350 I am installing the bagging unit today so in the standard view I can see how things are oriented. That being said I watched this a few times (and the follow up) and it did help some. Youi are VERY Correct with respect to install manuals They suck! which is surprising given the quality rep John Deere has, that they cheap out on crappy literature and I could find no other detailed videos about the install except yours - you would think John Deere has them on their site - NOPE! Strange!

If you put in a 33 gallon plastic garbage bag inside the cloth bag before you mow, all you have to do is tie off the plastic bag and dump out the plastic bag out of the cloth bag. Then you do not have a mess to deal with the loose grass in your cloth bag.

This is a very cheaply made attachment, the gearbox is made of plastic as is the housing which tends to crack where it mounts to the pole with one small bolt. You can't expect much life out of highly stressed plastic parts. The replacement parts are available but cost almost as much as a new attachment. I enjoyed using this saw to limb trees after felling, it saves your back because you can cut without bending over also it was attached to my 4 cycle troy-bilt weedeater so I never had to mix gas. I just wish it had lasted longer.
