Hey I have a ds lite that works well but doesn’t charge. When I plug it in the orange light doesn’t come at all. I checked the fuses and continuity and everything works. I checked the voltage from the charging port while charging and it shows 1.7 volts. What is the cause of the issue? Is it the charging port?

What microscope you were using in this video? Mine got one with a stand which mounts its vertically with just a few cm apart from the PCB during rework. It blocks the way how I was working on as well as nice view angle 😅

I know this is an old video but I need some advice if you see this. I was replacing a battery in pokemon emerald and I’m a very new solderer. I got the battery in and the only issue I had was oxidation (I was new and thought I could just follow a guide on how to switch the battery and didnt realize the solder tips were so important) long story short, the battery worked and the game worked, but me being me I wanted my joint to look better (the second joint was very bumpy, dry looking and I thought it might be an issue down the line) so when I went in to fix the battery joint, some of the solder moved to attach to the component underneath where the battery sits, connecting a good 8-10 of the pins. I tried a quick swiping motion to try to reheat and remove the solder connecting the pins but I’m so new that all I did was essentially took away all the solder except for a small layered strip across all the pins. I have no clue how to fix it, I’m not skilled enough. I just need to know if it’s technically still fixable. Is it possible for someone more advanced to go in, remove the solder that’s connecting the pins, and get the game working again?

The only thing I'd prefer is the GC sticks over the procon sticks. those procon ones wear easily and I feel like have less grip than GC. I use procon over GC in ult, and that's one thing I wish I had.

What brand of solder wick do you use?

Have you tested this on the PS3? Hopefully, it would be able to work on PS3-era Call of Duty games and (hopefully) NBA 2K games, as the latter tends to not work with all USB HID controllers that use DInput.

I think that allowing players to press all four directions at the same time a bad idea. And this design will create a lot of friction when playing fighting games with a lot of rotations. There is a reason why there is a ball at the center of every good DPad.

The split d-pad is a big no-no. Your triggers have no travel OOTB and you haven't actually showcased how your custom analog triggers feel.

Split D-pads ROYALLY SUCK for fighting and any sort of 2d platformer. Should have upgraded it t o a Saturn style D-pad instead.

I'm interested. But how good will the face buttons' membranes be? It really hurts to have those wear out.

A GCN Controller with Elements of Today's Controller Standards is something I REALLY want, especially for Dolphin and other Emulators. I still have the OEM Adapter with various OEM Controllers, but this is what I really want for an All-In-1 Solution.

Give us a normal dpad option and I'll back this. Pivoting dpad is absolutely required for most dpad heavy games, separate buttons just doesn't work.
