Hi Please what is the difference between a carving and a sculpture? Many thx
@TayMarie234 сағат бұрын
I think a carving is a sculpture! Just like a marble statue is a sculpture too. I think that sculpture is just a boad term, at least that's my take 🤷🏼♀️

Best gift ever. The book idea was brilliant and you did the lettering so well. I did see the earwigs but I had to look frame by frame to see them. They kind of looked like tiny astronauts who had a bad day.
@TayMarie2311 сағат бұрын
They are attracted to moisture so they kept crawling into my propane torch when I set it down since water is a byproduct of burning propane...gross! Crispy astronauts 😂

I'm binge watching your videos. Ya know, I might try chain saw carving a mushroom. A mushroom looks to be not too intense.

I think the tracks were from a tree climbing rabbit. Like you said they weren't raccoon tracks, and not squirrel tracks. Looking again, they have to be squirrel tracks.
@TayMarie23Күн бұрын
Definitely squirrel tracks 😂 I have never seen a squirrel on our property so at the time it didn't even cross my mind as an option lol

I think you could use one of those cheap Chinese mini excavators for moving logs. I ended up getting one, mostly because I got old :-/ but I like it.
@DAS-VideosКүн бұрын
Wow. It must have taken a long time to acquire the skills to do that.

Tay amazing!! If you’re still reading these comments can you tell me what disc you used in your grinder for the sanding on the paws?
@TayMarie23Күн бұрын
Just a flap sanding wheel, usually use 60 or 80 grit!

Awesome carving. I wonder how much it weighed once it was finished. Also have you ever considered using a thin layer of clear epoxy over the eyes to give them a glossy look?
@TayMarie233 күн бұрын
I believe this one weighed around 16lbs, a bit lighter than most since it was drier wood! I use a gloss varnish over just the eyes, I might not have gotten to it before I took these after shots 😊 Epoxy is a great idea too!

I love owls, my grandmother sculpted owls out of clay that we dug out of natural clay banks along a river. We (The family) dug clay to make bricks for my grandparent's home and the bricks are some of the most beautiful bricks I've ever seen. The owl sculptures were their biggest sellers are art and craft shows. She also sculpted other animals such as bears, cats, etc.
