How charming Tay! You seem to have adapted very quickly to the skid steer for sure! A lot of logs to move and buck in one day and you still had energy to spare. So glad you did this type vlog Tay so more people will know how sweet and darling you really are. Please do more of these in the future wont you? Trailer backing was spot on with a little guidance from Marco! Kisses Nami! Blessings cutie! 💛

Haha thank you! I just need to drive my trailer out to a big empty parking lot and play around for an hour or so until I get the hang out it! Doesn’t help that my truck doesn’t have a rear view mirror 🙃 That will hopefully be resolved soon lol! Will definitely do more behind the scenes vlogs!

You need a log bucker. You haven't even been carving for a year?! And you're already that damn good? You have been blessed with a wonderful talent. The skid steer can do incredible work if handled properly. Great content btw! Loved it. You are going places.

Good work Tay, moving logs around is a pain alright, the bobcat definitely helps! look forward to other creations, ive been so busy lately with other things that ive had to put my carving on the back burner! hopefully summertime now i can get back into it. Just checking some of my carvings lately...those pesky wood cracks/splits everywhere!!!
@TayMarie23
@TayMarie23 Жыл бұрын
It’s such a pain, logs are so much heavier then they look too! Definitely a long but needed day and I reclaimed about 15’ of yard space which is huge! And yes there is no escaping the wood cracks 🥲

This content is good too for change of pace. I had a good chuckle, found it ironic when you apologized for your neighbors chainsaw noise. New to your channel, keep up the great craftsmanship! Already bought the respirator through your link, looking forward to trying out the quick latch.

There is so much more to carving then the carving part! To keeping up with the enormous amount of sawdust build up, the cut offs, maintaining the tools, sharpening chains, mixing gas and oil, debarking logs, drying logs, ohhhh the list goes on and on! I think the carving part is the easiest part 😂 Welcome to the world of chainsaw carving, I hope it brings you as much joy as it does for me! The carving community has been amazing, some of the sweetest people I have ever meet 💛

You should have a peavey. Saves a lot of back strain, and gives more leverage when handling the logs. I've found every one I've had at yardsales. Best of luck
@TayMarie23
@TayMarie23 Жыл бұрын
Funny you say this because I was just at the local antique store the other day and I always keep my eyes out for a peavey! They are so useful!! I keep my eyes out on fb market place too, yet to find one! Definitely a must have though!

Do you ever spray your logs with a borax solution? We get powder post beetles down here and that seems to keep them away--also reduces mold and fungal growth.
@TayMarie23
@TayMarie23 8 ай бұрын
I personally have not but I know people who do! I try to stay away from chemicals when ever possible since I’m throwing stuff in the air while carving and so many carvers get respiratory issues, I’m trying to avoid that! Luckily all my logs are debarked since I get them at a local sawmill now and no bark means no bugs! I was still scavenging for logs at the time of this video so they always had bark and if they were older logs they would be filled with borers! Live and learn!
