for example, the Russian store Pyaterochka is written in cursive on the storefront, and seems to clearly be Pyamerochka. And yes I know its 5, pyat, but it really looks like an m!

Для всех изучающих: буквы Ш и Т в русском письме принято подчёркивать снизу и сверху соответственно, чтобы различать при письме. Спасибо за внимание.

It is not only the orthograph reform that made the literacy rate so high, but the accessible public education and the socialist methods that allowed this. Mainly the Libkez is the best example of this.

I like how we now have these names for letters: Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot ... Which are somewhat equivalent to the names of letters of that very old alphabet

I remember hearing that it was proposed to abolish double consonants in Russian as they have no effect on pronounciation (as they sometimes do in other languages) but that would have meant changing the spelling of "Коммунизм", and the Communists could not buy into that.

зачем брать старославянский русский и выдавать его за современный? русский курсив не настолько сложный, чтобы быть таковым.

I'm loving how you mix Russian and English in your visuals without a second thought. It really gets the bilingual juices flowing.
