These eBay sellers use bots and they are confident that they’ll get the doll . It’s not right for doll collectors like me . But I’m grateful I got her , and she came quick .

I received Aaliyah 2 days after ordering her.🎉I thought she would take weeks to arrive.

This is the pain collectors go through and it is highly manipulated by our doll companies. I will say this: Aaliyah is black label which means they can make more of her. I learned the hard way with the Stevie Nicks black label. I had to have her. She sold out on Mattel, and I ordered her on Amazon only to be cancelled. I was scammed twice on dubious websites but got my money back. Finally I yielded to eBay and paid $300 but I knew I would actually get her. A year later she reappeared, still about 100$ and is now available. The sad truth is I was desperate and impatient and allowed myself to be manipulated. It taught me a lesson.

I live in Germany and could Order one easaly on Amazon and got it the Next day.

I thought it was known that Mattel and Integrity Toys sell on eBay.

I don’t understand why they mass produce dolls that don’t sell but limit the ones that are for sure going to sell out more it’s weird I actually really wanted this one and I’m kinda disappointed but not surprised

Amazon UK had this doll for 79 pounds yesterday. Today I went on while watching this... They have sold all they had! I did not buy one yesterday because I thought the cost too much. Watch out for those scalpers. 💗🤍💗

The doll doesn't even look much like Aaliyah, except the hair and outfit. Her eyes are too small and face looks like some basic Fashionista. I'll pass on her, enjoy crazy prices 😂

The marketing was so POOR across the board from all the official people. I'm based in the UK and saw pre-orders as early as Dec-Jan time via Amazon before there were any promo pics. I wasn't sure if it was legit or not, but took a gamble and got lucky! As a fan page I tried my best to share links to help other fans get the doll, but struggled to find any information for US fans, as there was no information available! 🤦🏽‍♀️

I live in france and i can confirmed we had it thursday on amazon but for 77€ and that was frustrating knowing the retail price was 55, in 24h she was out of stock in europe. That being said, to me she aint a barbie signature doll but a barbie scalper doll. Eveything tells me this is really scalper friendly. Also, i have a friend who xent to malaisya and it's wild there cause they have a huge stock and sometimes sells it before the official release date, i'm guessing some scalpers have friends there and get a nice stock

Good video! So glad you were able to get one. I have a friend who is a doll collector and would have died without getting the Aaliyah Barbie. I was able to get him one and only asked what I paid for it. No need to rip off a friend! I wouldn't have purchased the doll if I wasn't getting it for him. It is so very discouraging to see people on eBay who are selling the doll for over $200 and have already sold 96 dolls. I'm sweating because I don't want my friend disappointed if the order somehow gets cancelled. Yet there are folks who don't know a Barbie from a barbecue who are getting dozens of them and pre-selling them for huge profits on eBay. What if their orders get cancelled? That would be karma! I definitely understand how frustrating it can be to not get a doll you want so very much. A few years ago, I was collecting the Inspiring Women series and one of the dolls, Wilma Mankiller, sold out on the Mattel site before I even knew she was available. I had the entire series up to that doll but I was not going to pay whatever crazy price the speculators asked. So now--I'm selling the rest of my Inspiring Women. I agree with your philosophy about putting out good and getting good opportunities, dolls, friends, whatever in return. I think that if a doll is meant to live here, I will find it at a price I can live with. If not, it was somebody else's turn to get that doll and there might be something even better around the corner. Fingers crossed that we both get our orders! ❤❤❤❤❤

I'm glad you got one. It sounds like Mattel's Barbie drops are getting as messy as their Monster High drops. I don't mess with Mattel Creations unless there's a half-off sale or something, so if I can catch her on Target, fine, but if not then life goes on. I wonder how many of these dolls got produced.

This is what happens when you try to beat the algorithm by following current trends as Aaliyah name and music has been all over the internet and radio these past few weeks and BOOM! As an Aaliyah fan.. i resoect that they went and made one, but the doll is lackluster to me as i am NOT easily impressed, the face is too dark and not aaliyqh toned enough, the hair should have been molded and laid to a true aaliyah standard even down to the roots and edges being like her real life hair (esp because hayden williams worked on the detail he should have known better) this whole doll was rushed abd they slapped a couple of aaliyahs moles on them. Im honestly not impressed with tye doll but i think the outfit is okay and the fact that we keep her legacy alive is something great regardless. But these people need to leave her alone if they not gonna do stuff right. Hayden even mentioned her own brother Rashad work3d on this doll and if he did... I'm STILL not impressed. #nothappy

I was sitting at my computer several minutes before the launch, ready & waiting. I ordered the first minute & she is already shipped! Whew! Thanks for putting her on my radar. I knew she was coming, because I saw the video the Turkish KZbinr posted, but your 2nd Aaliya video inspired me to look up the launch date and be on the lookout. If she hadn't sold out, the opportunity to purchase would have been open to the public the following day, but it sold out quickly. I do think that we might see a restock later on Target. Well, I am perplexed as well why Mattel tried to keep this launch so hush-hush. Now that you are a member, keep your eye on the Launch Calendar, there is another launch at the end of the month, though I have no idea what doll is being launched. It may be a Monster High, I don't know. I'm so glad you were able to get her, too!🥰

I’m glad you got Aaliyah 🎉🎉🎉🥰 On the scalping I think employees scalp as a side hustle I think people invest in scalping organizations Some doll collectors do it to offset the pricing of doll collections. However, The shipping prices are correct under the size and weight of the average Mattell doll collector sized items(depending on your zip code). Mattel should be contracted with the Big 3: FedEx/ UPS/ US Postoffice and for them the rates should be super cheap domestically. Those shipping discount should go to the customer ( hypothetically)👀😆

Ooooh and I want to share a small Mattel rant. I ordered a doll from them once, 20 minutes later I attempted to cancel. They said it was too late. 2 days later I get a shipping notification. A week later I request a return label and they charged me return shipping to send it back. Didn't make any sense.

So I ended up ordering her from Target. It was available for a few hours Thursday morning. I think I woke up just in time because shortly after it was sold out.

I didn’t even try to get her . If it happens it happens , but I am done feeling let down with these releases . Mattel and scalpers don’t care how much you love A, they just want money . We collectors are the ones who put heart and soul into our dolls. ❤️

I passed on her. It's probably a good thing I just got a rent increase, so I should only buy stuff I really like.
