if its one thats in a red bag its worth around £70 ($120) , i think their glass rods and get heavy at the end of a days fishin, but they had their place at the time 👍👍🎣

I will not use anything other than Abu Garcia. Please bring back the Pro Max Cardinal with Rosewood handle, updated with the newest tech and backreeling ability. That was an amazing reel series.

@@AbuGarciaTV I followed the link and tried to reach out several times with no response. After a while of waiting. Around a week give or take. I received my order. The packaging was awful. My rod was exposed. I was very thankful that the UPS driver understood and took extra precautions to make sure no damage happened during shipping. It's rare and that young man deserves a raise. So I got my gear and I'm ready to go fishing. But the shipping and handling process raises concerns about placing any further orders directly through the website. You are supposed to have an extra step that shows your total and makes sure shipping and billing addresses are correct and everything else before placing your order. I thought it would take me to the last step. Instead it automatically placed my order when I wasn't ready. Hopefully things get straightened out on the website soon for future orders. I don't have any problems with the products and will continue buying them for my fishing needs. But for now I will place my order through third party websites like Amazon etc.

The MAX DLC is designed for trolling, it is not designed for casting. All you need to do is turn it on, and start fishing.

When the reels were manufactured in Sweden they were excellent! The reels are no longer made in Sweden and some are just assembled. Most of the reels are Chinese crap!

The thumbnail was clickbait (no pun intended) for me, it looked like caviar. Just pulled out my very old (1977) Atlantic 423 rod from its pouch. Looks like new but I do not dare to use it. Have not been fishing for over 40 years. I eat fish alot so maybe I'll start again. I never really used this rod with the Cardinal 66 (now in unrepairable state) I had. Maybe an Ambassadeur would have been more suitable. IIRC the rod of choice for the Cardinal was a Suecia. A perfect pair. I had once a giant pike on but it got away.

I cannot figure this out. My break flops just flop up and down and the reel is very prone to backlash. I can’t click or unclick anything

Try turning the exterior dial up to the Max setting. You should feel the brakes slow the spool significantly. Start turning the exterior dial down a couple of clicks with each consecutive cast, stopping the spool with your thumb once your bait hits the water. You will find a sweet spot, where the reel will not backlash, and casting distance is maximized.

Hi Danny, thanks for reaching out. The IVCB-6L Braking System is designed to be adjusted for just about any sized bait suitable for a casting rod. If you have purchased a new Revo SX - www.abugarcia.com/products/revo-sx-baitcast-reel they do not have locking brake locks, which could be why this video is confusing.

You might be surprised! The 7' Medium Heavy casting combo is a great rod for predators like Pike and Char.

@@AbuGarciaTV I've got a few rods to do reviews on so maybe I'll give one a shit one day, a pike is a pretty aggressive test for a rod which is why I like doing them. Once the ice is gone the next is actually the 6'9" Veritas PLX MH 2 piece which will be the first Abu I've reviewed. Just a toss up of throwing a diawa, Shimano, or 13 fishing on it or getting an Abu reel to test with the rod 🤷

That old factory running like that is just the best I've seen in years. My grandfather and father was a woodworker I just had to do it to just like making something out of nothing fire wood 🪵 to table or chair 🪑 nothing more satisfying. Thank you for your question! Our reels are not rated for lure weight, only line weight. Depending on the angler operating the reel, a large range of lures can be used, with varying casting distances.

I didn't understand a word of it but I understood the meaning completely: only a company who cares about their product would put out a film like this. Moreover, you don't see films like this one coming out of goddam China. The products from ABU are truly legacy reels. I have a mint '56 Ambassadeur that sits on a shelf unfished as a piece of industrial art. I'm merely it's custodian and it will outlive me both in form and function. When things I own earn that level of respect it's kind of like that big Brown trout you keep on catching and releasing.
