Not long after the demolition started and the town centre has been a building site ever since, with no end in sight. 30 years plus of disruption, noise and dust and how many more to go? What with Aldershot being almost abandon with the destruction of the British Army, its a depressing part of the country to live in

That route is plain stupid. There ought to be a northbound exit from the A3 to the Oakham roundabout. This solution wastes time, fuel and is certainly not green. Worst of all why spend millions improving Junction 10 only to direct even more traffic through the roundabout? This makes getting to Wisley from the South much worse than before all the “improvements”.

I parked at RHS Wisley on Saturday afternoon and was able to have a "preview" of the new road almost straight away out of the car. Not so good at the other end for sure. The cycle path is very wide and very smooth but equally they looked like "serious" cyclists and with the slight downhills on that road be easy to get up to about 25 mph on a bike which then begs the question of bit fast to share with pedestrians yet still bit slow on a road although I recall seeing some 30 mph signs.

If you wanted to continue up the A3, you had to cross the lanes of traffic wanting the M25. The new road allows you to join the A3 further back using the Ockham roundabout northbound slip, giving a lot more time to get over into the northbound A3 lanes. I was also under the impression that the existing lay by will be merged into a fourth lane on the northbound A3 for traffic turning left onto the M25. I could be wrong on that one tho.
