in isolation, a fantastic time and not to be sniffed at. Maybe only a small minority of riders could achieve this, but a few factors to be considered. 1: The near perfect prep was allowed ( the weather and temp would no doubt see a faster time by Jack a the same watts. 2: its not done after many stages and 150km of tough racing and 3: The bike would not be allowed by the UCI to compete with as its significantly under the weight limit. The 1kg of weight alone would prob add at leat 1-1:30 mins on to his time. Although saying all this, it was't done with team mates to drag him up the climb so time lost there and the adrenalin of 10000 fans cheering you on would have been a massive morale booster. Overall, if i was a team principle, i would consider him in a one day race on a rolling circuit with a hill top finish to see what he could do against the pro's, during a real race .

12 kms ? not 14 kms ?
@jono1457-qd9ft4 сағат бұрын
12.6 km is the strava segment that many riders use. The full Tour de France route is 13.8
@Sylvain-r1w4 сағат бұрын
yes 12.0 km instead of 13.8 km
@mondoabz12 сағат бұрын
Remember most of those original KOM’s were done during grand tours after multiple days of racing load. Get a world tour pro to rock up fresh just to ride the segment and the new times won’t last long.
@nikpavlovic27708 сағат бұрын
whats your point? theres no rules for strava segments

@LT-rk6fr13 сағат бұрын
If I were a recruiter I would be interested in endurance as well. E.g do 150 k at ~250 Watts then do a KOM in a single ride. Just to show that his body can refuel on the go which is a huge part of being a pro cyclist.

This works out at just over 39 minutes for the full Tour de France route, but with warmer temperatures and some pacers I am sure he would be faster.
@KeggaGee18 сағат бұрын
@@jono1457-qd9ft warmer temperatures would help majorly with rolling resistance. And not to mention, he beat the time of the TDF guys with no draft. This guy has some TDF podiums in his legs 100%! Crazy that he has flown under the radar for some many years. I guess the Israel premiere tech team scouts messed up this one big time.
