Pogacar zone 2 is up to 330-350 watts so most probably true for Roglic. But still it requires them to eat 1000kcal/h, so not sustainable when riding alone
@Ifoldforweed
@Ifoldforweed 7 ай бұрын
@@gauthierperrod4958 did you do the math on it? would be 5 watts / kg in Zone 2. Pro ' s have ridiculous output, but I dont think its that high. Could be wrong

Best to ask before jumping on someone’s wheel - especially if they’re a pro who is training….

Agreed. If you're riding along and someone catches you from behind, and then you need to jump and make an effort to bridge the gap, you're simply satisfying your own interests if you don't ask and potentially making yourself a pain in the azz. Grabbing any wheel that goes by you is not part of cycling, unless you're a wanker and want it to be part of cycling. The guy's training, not racing. Ask.

very cool keeping up with Primoz. Those close calls were a little too close though - it's obvious what the local drivers are going to do if there's a tight(er) squeeze!

Very cool. You are a strong rider, for sure. That's not an "easy" session for the vast majority of us. Also, it's one of my favorite places on earth, I remember having an incredible lunch in Eze a couple of years ago...

If PR ftp is 400@64ish kg, that puts him at 6.25w/kg (it could be higher but not too much higher). 70-75% of 400 is 280-300 watts. Thats the upper end of z2.
@infertagul
@infertagul 7 ай бұрын
That sounds about right. My FTP is 410W @ 85kg and my zone 2 upper limit is usually 280W - 300W for the first 2 hours, then ~270W - 280W afterwards.
@MellowJFan
@MellowJFan 7 ай бұрын
From my experience with different athletes it does not always work like that. In therms of lactate and "maxfat" his true upper end of sone 2 could be 320-330 ish.

Nice ride and vid! you kept his wheel while ascending but couldn't stay during the descending part? you should have tried to have a coffee with him, thank him for the ride up and ask him what training he was doing that day, maybe a nice stroll? 🤣or at least, ask to take a pic with him. that would have been nice.
