Idea: instead of making items float near you, they actually gravitate to you, like the gravity points

I'm glad you've come back to the game. It looks brilliant, and I especially like how you've added a variety of mechanics in now. Good luck with the project!

Does this cap sprite sizes to 225x225 since the lookup can't reference an red/green value greater? Or could you somehow multiply them by the blue value to access a greater range?

I may as well mention, I did love the old video style where the game dev was just a playground for whatever you were interested in making a video about. But congrats on making real progress, I'm looking forward to seeing more of the levels take shape.

Bevy is a good choice. It was something I considered. I want to have first-class modding support (because it has even benefits for regular development), and that seems to be difficult to do at the moment in rust. That's pretty much all it came down to for me. There are work arounds with things like web assembly and lua or whatever, but it ends up forcing you to push that stuff through a C-API at some point, which seems like busy work to me. Also I realized that my goal of producing a finished game is not the part that is most exciting to me. I like the DIY spirit, and I am very opinionated about software, so I want to do a lot of it myself. and for me the journey is more fun than the idea of finishing it. Getting away from Unity is probably a win.

Aside from the gameplay changes, the UI changes really had a big impact on the feel of everything I think. It's really starting to feel like a uniquely "aarthificial" game

I've never quite been big brained enough to follow most of these devlogs (you're doing some really clever stuff), but I do know animation and just- generally holy heck? The character acting you pull off with these itty bitty guys is nuts

This game reminded me a lot of Dandara, a metroidvania that you only move through the scenarios jumping and using other mechanics just like Astortion. The only difference is that in Dandara you can't walk.

It's so inspiring seeing you still in development of this game, I think if you go for a metroidvenia type game maybe try to make it kinda-linear like hollow knight where you can go to like 3 different things in the beginning and from there it's sort of linear. Anyways, this series is amazing and I totally would've subscripted to the Patreon if I could! Maybe when I return home ❤

I noticed that the player character doesn't jump in your streams. Will there ever be a dedicated jump button? It feels odd not to have one in a platformer.
