this is what I need to learn. And also: multiple/additive scene loading (if needed) or and other way to handle the elements...

Just you know, I can not access the steam store page of your game anymore. It is not available in my region since your game has no age rating atm. This leads valve to not show your title for german users due to some agreements with german agencies. Some policies has changed around the 15th of November and I only found out now.

Astortion (along with lots of other games) got delisted in Germany due to not having an age rating. Stupid regulations :(

If you're using the shader file in this video for a 2D side-scroller, it will have issues with normal rotation and unexpected sprite map translucency. If anybody needs help, u can contact me.

Can't understand a single word, unfortunately. I wonder why non-natives insist on articulating thoughts in the English language when they evidently do such a poor job.

I'm non-native and i can perfectly understand everything he says. You just got a skill issue mate :3
@PAttah-d1c22 күн бұрын
@@Zly_u Not really. I speak proper English, pronouncing words how they are meant to be pronounced. I don't mince and destroy words with some kind of Eastern European accent... Your turn of phrase is also somewhat awkward. It should read "I'm not a native speaker, yet I can understand everything he says perfectly."

Whatever you do Jacob don’t ever give up on this project! However long it’ll take you can do it! Your pixel art is beautiful and I know personally how difficult it is to make it flow so naturally as you do! I’m not sure how you feel about this project anymore - I have a few that I’ve started and never finished too cause I just got bored. So, I understand if you’re feeling that too. Take as much time as you need. Maybe start something new - you have grown so much as a game developer since you first envisioned this game. You can use those skills for another project and then come back to this one whenever you’re feeling like it. You got something special and I’m really looking forward to seeing what you can do. Honestly, you’ve inspired me a lot and you got me into pixel art plus game development too! Thanks Jacob :)

The dialog from 2:45 to 3:00 seems like you left something out. The only way those descriptions make sense is if you apply some additional transformation to the ratio. The central layer corresponds to a ratio of 1, not 0. And an infinitely distant background has a ratio of 0, not 1. Foreground layers don't have negative ratios; they have positive ratios greater than 1, while background layers (with finite distance) have positive ratios less than 1. A negative ratio would represent inverted parallax, meaning either a layer behind the camera that still gets rendered for some reason, or a background layer the camera is rotating within. Edit: after some thought, I think your descriptions are based on using 1 minus the ratio as the variable of interest, rather than the ratio itself.
