Many of my friends and family are Oddfellows and Rebekahs. My mom also worked at an IOOF Nursing Home for many years. I'm out of the states for the bulk of the year due to work, but any time I'm home I do what I can to volunteer time with a local lodge. One day when life settles down enough that I'm not traveling all over I'll join in an official capacity.

I was excited when I joined an odd fellows lodge in upland CA.They charged me $65 to join. I kept showing up for their scheduled meetings only to find the lodge was abandoned. It's 2024 now and I still have never seen the inside of their lodge or been invited to a meeting or met any members.
