DutchCountryman All fraternal orders are hurting for new and younger members to carry on each orders tradition. So that each and every order does not die off in vain! I’m not an Odd Fellow, but, I have respect for the Odd Fellows. Your order has every right to feel passion towards its self! Even though I’m a Mason, Elk, and Shriner. I wish you the Odd Fellows continued success and never give up on your Order. You guys have every right to feel proud of your membership and your order. The grand old Odd Fellows.....Amen!

I am very conflicted about potentially joining. My mom, dad and grandpa have all been part of Odd Fellows, with my dad being a patriarch for a couple of years now. They are so secretive about what is actually going on during the ceremonies, and it both terrifies me and makes me curious. I have once been in the local Odd Fellows building here and even though I was like 6 or 7 now over 20 years ago, I can remember some details that nowadays makes me think of the Dan Brown novels haha. A "starry night sky" (an impressive pattern of stars in the big ceremony hall) for example.

@Thomas-ORaghaill Жыл бұрын
@@WizardsPath-if5oq You can definitely be heavily tattooed and be an Odd Fellow. The tattoos should be tasteful with nothing offensive, like Nazi or any other extremist ideas. Freemasons and Odd Fellows are common in that they require a belief in God and teach people how to be better citizens of the world. To be a Freemason in Nevada you: have to be a mason, 18, lawful citizen, and, believe in a Supreme Being. Odd Fellows require about the same thing. One thing ive noticed with being both is that Odd Fellows is more Christian based with an older demographic, but this is slowly changing. Odd Fellows is a great group, and I'd recommend checking them out. If you're into more esoteric, philosophy you'd be more suited to be a Freemason. Odd Fellows are generally co-ed, Freemasons are generally male only.
