I'm definitely a beginner at uaing charcoal. Last time i did it, I used WAY too much charcoal and the grill was spitting flames. It got the job done but it was overkill.

Thanks for the tips. My dad is a bugger for putting food on too early so next time I will commandeer operation of the grill and do it properly. No more lighter fluid tasting food!

Chicken thighs are my favorite meat to grill. Every type of marinade always goes great on them.

I was at a park once and saw this guy trying to grill with charcoal. Kept drowning it in lighter fluid and couldn’t figure out why the fire kept going out. Felt bad for him.

I like to start the fire off with the chimney at 75% full then dump 90% of that leaving the remaining 10% to continue to light up more charcoal at 60% of the chimney. Also, I don't like using briquettes. It's better to use wood charcoal. If you can find some from a fruit tree even better. Also I only dump my lit charcoal outside of the grill and feed it with a fireplace shovel. That way you have more control of the temperature over the heat of the grill. Keep in mind that I usually have a full grill. Keep in mind I'm from Argentina we put on a lot to grill. You can Google our "asado Argentino." Keep up the good work!
