When we all read hunger games we thought Gayle was the one. And peeta came in and proved what love was. Taking Gayle out as a love interest almost immediately. Dont get me wrong Gayle was there for her but peeta was always going to be there even if she didn’t know.

Did they do an extended cut for cable TV years later? This is coming on my feed bc they just showed a Hunger Games marathon & I was looking things up again & saw a lot of these scenes. Like the Peeta training & Rue X Katniss talk scene. Didn’t see the interviews or the bread one. (Keep in mind I never saw the movies in theaters, only on cable TV & I wasn’t fully watching the movies recently bc phone & chores to do.)

they absolutely should have kept rue's interview in the movie. it is so obvious that she is a little kid, and the audience staying silent out of boredom or "im not putting my money on this kid" makes me feel physically sick. ive never seen this deleted scene before. either the capitol is so vile that they cant even understand how cruel rue's fate is (likely) or even they are feeling uncomfortable about a twelve year old being sent to state-sanctioned death (unlikely).

3:40 i can see why they didn't include this, since the number and sex of tributes dont make sense ( not enough extras-- not enough to make 24 and therefore pairings are thrown off/ dont make sense) but if they had done it right, it would have added so much to the movie. the objectification of CHILD tributes (glimmer's flirtatious "character") , katniss seeing rue in line and on stage and obviously, thru jennifers acting, katniss being disgusted at children being murdered senselessly, to marvel saying "i would see someone kill someone else, and think, thats me". a very vivid message of how cruel and violent and dehumanizing the games are as well as how brainwashed the careers are. i wish they had perfected the scene and included it, it would have been very subtly telling of how truly sick the games are early in the movie series (in a sort-of foreshadowing). and yes i am watching this in response to the sunrise on the reaping hysteria)

I married my Peeta 56 years ago. He was just diagnosed with cancer and heart disease. We can get through anything.

I wish the bread scene was more like in the books, because in the book katniss opens the parachute to find a cresent moon shaped bread because each district has their own type/shape of bread, whereas in this scene it was just a regular piece of bread with a note specifying it was from district 11 but in the books peeeta had educated katniss on the different districts bread so she knew where it came from making her look smarter and more thankful as she said "my thanks to the people of district 11" instead of just reading the note.

I know the actors all had stunt doubles and all that but they really thought we wouldn't noticed that they changed the races and the people from districts 7 - 10 like 3 times in the film

0:44 I love this scene, but it was done poorly in the movies. In the books, Peeta saw Katniss first and purposely burnt the bread, knowing his mom would hit him, he then threw Katniss all the bread. In the movies, they make it look like he just accidentally burnt it and only saw Katniss after. Not to mention they look the same age here, and not around twelve years old.

Rue was great, but the Foxface interview wasn't, it was honestly so stupid. Her *NAME* isn't Foxface. Katniss *thought of her as* the foxfaced girl. They should've either given her a damn name or just skipped her saying her name or blended the audio so you can't really hear it--literally anything other than *making her call HERSELF Foxface.* Ugh. That was *her* mental nickname for someone whose name she didn't know! Glad they left that one out but it just is such a facepalmer. Part of the tragedy was knowing kids died without even having a name to the survivors.

It's so sad that whenever Katniss says stay with me he says always but for most of the movies he was actually in love and Katniss wasnt😢
