In the books during hunger games and catching fire Katniss points out that Caesar is always nice to all the tributes and does his best to showcase their best traits to be appealing to the capital and thus sponsors. He could still be supportive of the capital but i still think he's really interesting, especially since the prequel trailers show that his dad or grandpa was the first host of the hunger games, so he grew up in that situation.

@@spaghettiwrynnsurpremacy Yeah but the second movie was less about the games and more about the start of the revolution, which all lead to the second arena. However, even with the short time in the arena, I think they did well in showing how gruesome and mentally torturing it was for the tributes involved.

All of these were so good. In the books, Katniss and Rue are together for much longer than in the movies. If you haven’t read them, it’s much better there. They get to know each other, they tell stuff about themselves. You also get to know Rue as a character much better, and she talks about district 11. I wish these things were in the movie too, it would’ve made it so much better! There are also much more stuff in the books that weren’t in the movies.

I like the interviews as it humanises the tributes and gives back story but I’m glad they cut them as it would have slowed down the pace. They would have made great end of credit so the audience still gets to see them. I think they should have definitely kept rue’s so you realise just how young she was. Also maybe foxface to better explain the scene where Katniss is and Peter get the berries out of her hand - better shows to the audience that she probably killed herself because she was knowledgeable enough to know they were poison. I also think they should have kept the scene where katniss realises Peter saves her - motives behind Peter being with the careers and more bonding time with rue. I love the scene where 11 sends katniss bread. So so touching - made me tear up

Part of those scenes are in the movies. Like we see peeta twist in the rope then fall but we didn't see katniss watching him, we just saw her get up and go to him after he fell. From the 'katniss covinced that peeta teamed up w the careers' the flash backs werent in the movie but everything else from that scene was. They cut it after the careers leave and then she goes to sleep. most of these scenes are just the extended versions of what we saw in the flims.

They should have kept the bread scene from district 11. No other tribute had received a gift from another district, and its commented that gifts in the arena are very expensive. For Katniss to receive a gift from a district that wasn't her own, especially one of the poorer districts, was a big moment. Also, in the books, bread is a reoccurring theme (not just with Peeta), and I think the movies robbed us of a lot of that.

Some of these scenes should have been added. Clips of the interviews - like the shot of them all in a line, and Rue's "they can't kill me if they can't catch me"- which foreshadows her death after getting caught, as well as both scenes of Katniss and Rue talking. Just more of Rue, because she's a very important part of the story in the books. In the movie we hardly see/know her before she dies so while we see she meant a lot to Katniss we never really see why. She's forgettable. District 11 sending bread absolutely should have been added too (although Katniss should have said thank you!). The games feel so short in the movie

I actually think that the right decision was made with the dream. The way the movie is written, Seneca Crane is opening his mouth to answer the question, "What is your personal game signature?" and Prim's scream shatters the quiet interview as the screen goes to dreary District 12. It startles the audience and is such a distinct juxtaposition from fancy and "reserved" to dingy and real. The question, followed by the dream and the comforting words of Katniss, just would have seemed out of place. The scream reminds the audience immediately, "

The scene with all the tributes in line dressed up and with the make up on i think it was a magnificent way of represent a part of the Games that is cruel and no one talks about as much. They were dehumanizing. Not because the Capitol saw people from the districts as inferiors, but because they were a show. Their pain was a show for all Panem to look and laugh at. They dressed up starving opressed childrens and present them on a show to make an even more "fun" circus.

I like that foxface brags about being smart and then dies from berries
@ChanBang-bm9ci9 ай бұрын
I hope I don’t come off as annoying and you don’t care but it makes more sense book wise, foxface is smart because she’s sneaky. She doesn’t know how to get food herself, her district is about power and electricity so she’d have no chance to learn about plants. Even so, Katniss is the plant expert and she aces the plant section in training and she even says the berries weren’t mentioned in training at all. These berries only grow on the outskirts of district 12, which is the only reason why she knows what they are because she hunts illegally like her dad did and he taught her. It’s why peeta doesn’t know because he’s a merchant, who’s more well off since his family owns a bakery so he’s never been out in the woods. Foxface dying is about how it’s just as dangerous to overestimate your components as it is to underestimate them. She thought they were safe because peeta was collecting them because he thought they were safe since there’s other berries that look similar that Katniss was eating before. It’s also why Katniss act with the berries was an extra punch in the gut for Snow, because it’s more proof of Katniss breaking the rules even before she was reaped for the hunger games, since she shouldn’t know what the berries are in the first place
