into your tomb, i've had enough of you cause i'm tired of playing the fool not another kiss from you i'll throw a rose to cover up your face because i'm tired of waiting for you you're the reason that i had lost faith in dreams of dreams i can't live in dreams of dreams i can't live in i want to run from the rumors that are true you want to run from the rumors that are true dreams of dreams i can't live in dreams of dreams i can't live in i want to run from the rumors that are true you want to run from the rumors that are true (guitar solo) don't be so rude, i've had enough of you cause i'm tired of feeling confused not another kiss from you i'll throw a rose to celebrate your end but when you rise from the dead i will love you again but when you rise from the dead i will love you again dreams of dreams i can't live in dreams of dreams i can't live in i want to run from the rumors that are true you want to run from the rumors that are true dreams of dreams i can't live in dreams of dreams i can't live in i want to run from the rumors that are true you want to run from the rumors that are true

Funny story. Years ago me and my girlfriend bought tickets to an emancipator concert in Capitol Hill Seattle Washington. The opening band was beat connection we were so excited because we had been listening to them for a couple years and totally loved everything they did. On the night of the concert we pre-games had a great time dancing and singing to all the songs and before we knew it "little people" (the band) came out. It was such a drop in energy and we looked around and felt fulfilled that we actually left the show completely missing the headliner emancipator which is funny because the tickets weren't cheap. Lol All in all it was a really great night, and the highlight was BEAT CONNECTION! 👍🔥

I had this debate with an art colleague about visual/audio sensory experience. Is one sense experience subsumed by another? Do we focus on one at the detriment of the other? If we close our eyes, does the audio conjure up images other than what is shown in the video? Are we not able to do so anymore, once we are presented with a visual representation? Many videos seemingly show an almost complete opposition or even a disconnect with the song itself. Do our Alpine singers in astro garb somehow represent, expand or describe the song's actual intent in some way? Or does it promote some other interpretation beyound the song's actual meaning? Does great art sync these senses...and what of smell, taste and touch? Does the lack of such representation somehow minimise the 'reality' of the song's meaning? Will future 'fake' realties take this a step further with more complete sensory representations? Does such enhance our virtual experience? Do we become further lost down the stories idea making it a more 'drowned' experience?

The sad thing for me as a song-writer, mixer, producer blah blah, is that bands like Alpine come and go so quickly. This song is a great song...the video is cool but - IMHO - doesn't really connect with the song itself...not meaning to diminish either forms. Very cool song though...comes through the mass of sounds for a brief instant and then disappears in the depths of cultural sounds.

love the dancing and the photography...very cool. Yet again, doesn't really connect to the song's meaning. Then again, many vids don't. It's kind of a contrast. Like We Are the People. A song about the fear of maybe losing someone and not doing well with the possibility...yet the vid set in a Mexican desert is seemingly at odds. Yet it's cool in that it kind of weaves an 'at odds' visual story in with a basic story about the potential loss of love...maybe producing a synegetic meaning?

A song has a meaning intended by the writer. There are lyrics and music. Someone then suggests that there should be a visual interpretation of the song. For me, the best productions of music/video 'sync' togehether...that is, the song's meaning 'meshes' with the video interpretation. The latter should enhance and represent the song's identity...not be at odds with it.

interesting the dancers look at the camera but the band doesn't.

Again, another great song from this band but sadly, I don't see the video concept connection. That's 4 songs where the music concept is at odds with the visual reference. Perhaps that's the intent. Here's a song and now let's come up with a visual concept that's clever but doesn't really reflect, expand upon, represent or connect with it in any way shape or form.
@fabiorubato9434 Жыл бұрын
another greet song from this group. But again the video, although technologically clever, doesn't really expand upon the song's concept. That's 34 of their songs and videos like this. It's like, here's the song, let's get some young people together dancing. WTF! A visual appeal at the most and not at all related to the song at the least.

no bands last forever. They form and create music. Some bands form in a chemistry that just clicks and rises above the morass of general music intentions. Alpine for however some briefly, did just that.

@@user-ui8my9zs7oI’m assuming somewhere between 2014-16 after the “nausea” album. They never made music again aside from 1-2 one offs of the lead singer doing house remixes and a random feature.
