Who's listening to this in 2021 still? What a hit. The video is meant to be like this, they made it like this to for the songs meaning more. Look right unpopular opinion. The music video for sending Red is not 'Shit' 'poorly directed' it was Intentional of all of Alpine to create this video to try to create a certain experience watching the video and listening to the song to help you digest what they really mean and to show you how they feel... The whole song is a fucking brilliantlywoven blanket of metaphor and imagery that talks about inner turmoil and it is about that internal thought process that you can only without this video understand, if you have lived what the Lyricist/singers experienced IRL.. a breakdown of that kind .This is actually Zenith Magnus maddeford, btw using my housemates phone cos mines dead and im in a breakdown right now. Anyway This Artistically beautiful video it annoys me so much that it's perfectly executed and then to see people who should love this band/understand enough to Not have to insert Negative personal opinions when they deserve all the praise in the world for being truly Vulnerable and trusting the director and their bandmates probably im guessing in this cruel painful world to create a piece of Art that makes the world easier to live in for those that need it. Spread Art and Love not hateful negative opinions please guys not this. You can do better. Alpine did what they set out to do here with the director I personally think. (I'm saying that this is Zen and if u reply I'll respond with my usual acc, please don't use my acc name usual use Zen or Magnus as im Trans and I haven't yet updated that name yet idk how to as well right now before I see it likely that someone sees this and responds

I had this debate with an art colleague about visual/audio sensory experience. Is one sense experience subsumed by another? Do we focus on one at the detriment of the other? If we close our eyes, does the audio conjure up images other than what is shown in the video? Are we not able to do so anymore, once we are presented with a visual representation? Many videos seemingly show an almost complete opposition or even a disconnect with the song itself. Do our Alpine singers in astro garb somehow represent, expand or describe the song's actual intent in some way? Or does it promote some other interpretation beyound the song's actual meaning? Does great art sync these senses...and what of smell, taste and touch? Does the lack of such representation somehow minimise the 'reality' of the song's meaning? Will future 'fake' realties take this a step further with more complete sensory representations? Does such enhance our virtual experience? Do we become further lost down the stories idea making it a more 'drowned' experience?

Again, another great song from this band but sadly, I don't see the video concept connection. That's 4 songs where the music concept is at odds with the visual reference. Perhaps that's the intent. Here's a song and now let's come up with a visual concept that's clever but doesn't really reflect, expand upon, represent or connect with it in any way shape or form.

no bands last forever. They form and create music. Some bands form in a chemistry that just clicks and rises above the morass of general music intentions. Alpine for however some briefly, did just that.

A song has a meaning intended by the writer. There are lyrics and music. Someone then suggests that there should be a visual interpretation of the song. For me, the best productions of music/video 'sync' togehether...that is, the song's meaning 'meshes' with the video interpretation. The latter should enhance and represent the song's identity...not be at odds with it.
