One thing I find interesting in Mass Effect that i wish Andromeda made clear alot more of is that due to the Reaper trap of the relay network they essentially stopped development of more effective energy weapons against synthetic life. In Andromeda due to the lack of relays weapons tech had to be lighter to be viable for transport so the races there focuses on plasma weapons more than ballistic. Just one change in travel and logistics shifted entire species thinking.

The Zaherux conspiracy theory at the end, with the nano technology which turns hostile seems to be inspired by Stanisłav Lem's The Invincible. A Mars like planet on which sudden nano-bot storms can appear and whipe out organic life.

@BartlebysCorpse I can recommend the book. It's a pretty interesting story. There is a game of the same name (which follows the same setting on the planet, but puts its story as some kind of prologue to the actual book) through which I learned about the book. Never played the game, but listened to the audio book 🙂

Oh shut the front door, dude. Miranda is the weakest human biotic in the trilogy. She is worse than Jacob, yet put her above Kaidan? Stop, OK? Miranda is the only biotic who fails shields through Seeker Swarms. She is also very squishy & her damage output is worse than Jacob’s. Let alone everyone else with biotics. Kaidan learnt how to reave which very few humans can do, he can reach Asari levels of biotic power & kicks ass in ME1 & 3 trivializing majority of combat encounters. Pair him up with Garrus who overloads shields to allow Kaiden’s biotic powers (and yours if you’re biotic) to work covering you with a sniper rifle and your enemies are cooked. Kaidan also is decently tanky with good gear in ME1, and bloody unkillable in ME3 bc he activates barrier skill constantly. Also, putting Kaidan in the same rank as Ashley?! Ashley is a mediocre space racist & doesn’t provide as much versatility to combat. She is just guns & I’m sure there characters with biotics or tech skills that will outgun her. Miranda belongs in C-tier below Jacob; Kaidan is a least A-tier, for how good he is in ME3. Garrus is easily S+ bc his aim & damage output are insane. He almost never misses and I had a few encounters where he saved my butt by taking out enemies I didn’t see. The only downside to Garrus is that you have to keep him behind via command bc he like to run into a fight while being a little squishy & can’t handle multiple enemies due to lack of CC. Also hard disagree on Aria’s placement. B maybe. She has only one good ability & frankly being forced to travel with her aggravates me. I only do the DLC for war asset boost, otherwise I’d ignore it altogether.

Not yet, but there will be. I've been progressing on it slower than I'd like, but I am progressing on it. Actually, given the length of what I have recorded, combined with some intended re-writes and re-recording, I'll be splitting it into Parts 2 and 3, with a part 4 coming further down the pike.

@BartlebysCorpse12 күн бұрын
Definitely possible. Part of the Drake equation involves the planet being at such a moderate distance from the local star to maintain a general temperature suitable for life, so even after life's wiped out on a world, it's more likely to reappear there than the average planet.

The Leviathan’s plan to create the Reapers, whether it’s hubris or just narcissistic blindness, is just hilariously ironic when you boil it down. “All species eventually create technology that inevitably tries to destroy them. Anyway, we’re gonna make a technology to fix that, what could go wrong?”

Remember how ME2 kept dropping Dark Energy left and right? And the amount of planets all over the galaxy being described as extra-solar captures? It could be that before Bioware cut the dark energy plotline, that the inhabitants of those planets were using Mass Effect fields and biotics so much that their stars went supernova prematurely and blew up their planets out of orbit.
@commandershepard4235Ай бұрын
As I recall the dark energy plot line was scrapped because it was leaked far too early. In theory you should be able to go and find it somewhere. I'm far too lazy to do it though😂

I don’t get why they scrap thing just because of leaks. Like why does it matter if the story gets leaked? It’s not going to stop people from buying, playing it, and enjoying it. @lhemnenn4713Ай бұрын
I have been wondering too, but I don't think dinosaurs would be the target (besides they didn't technically disappear, look at birds). Instead it could be that Earth was a colony of someone back then, given the Sol system has a relay it's very likely after millions of years (assuming the relays were built before 65 million years ago). But who knows, there is a real life hypothesis on if Earth had other sentiments civilizations before us, it's possible ...
@poxy100019 сағат бұрын
dinosaurs evolve, travel through space, one of their colony ships crash lands on some lush but neurotoxic world, reapers wipe out the rest of their civilization, they degrade into a tribal nature and over countless generations they end up evolving into the krogan.

Can you please help me about the title of the track by Flavio Concini that you have used on the background of "The Leviathan" chapter? Since when I first watched this video a couple of months ago it got stuck in my mind, I checked his discography through his links but cannot find that specific piece, and it's not easy finding a track when you do not know the title. He has a lot of works published during the last decade. I really liked it and I would appreciate listening to it on my headphones, especially when I am walking.

In my opinion when a new race discovers the remnants of a ancient civilization it’s destroyed in the reaper harvest of their time only a small fraction of artifacts and information survives but becomes damaged or mistaken for another civilization in a different cycle, like how the statues of the Inusannon on Ilos could be mistaken for the Protheans or another race, also how many relics were destroyed in wars across the galaxy or natural means such as earth quakes or supernovas

What would have been an awesome ending to Mass Effect 3, was if they found out the Crucible was a Leviathan creation, and there was a Leviathan that had been waiting beneath the bottom of the ocean on Earth, and had been manipulating humans into building a device to eradicate the Reapers. Imagine the twist if you found out all of your actions in the entire Mass Effect trilogy was a single Leviathan using humanity as a method to regain control of the Reapers by manipulating lesser species into building the Crucible to "re-set" the Reaper programming. The end boss of the game would be a Big Stupid Jellyfish.

Ngl, I always thought and still do think the whole reaper motivations make no sense. Like bioware didn't really know why and had to come up with something.
@pisscvre69Ай бұрын
cuz it wasn't their original motivation, it was going to be that the use of mass effect causes the rapid decay of stars and stuff like on Halestrom, so the reapers would let a civilization reach a certain point then wipe them out to delay entropy why did this change? cuz it was leaked just like weeks before mass effect 3 came out and EA forced them to change it, cuz EA is fucking stupid. id much rather go into a good story thats been spoiled than a rushed one that makes no sense, all in all mass effect 3 is still one of my fav games of all time and i think one of the best ever made i think its bonkers that people act like the last 30 minutes negates all 28277373 hours before it lol, not a flawless game but really good
