I need some help with my camshaft, I took off the stock camshaft at tdc marks with the cam gear and when I try to install the street savage camshaft with the golden eagle cam gear the cam gear keeps going off tdc. Help me I’m new to this
@schmikels_garage

@@gxwsr4665 what do you mean that it goes off tdc when with the golden eagle gear? The cam is installed and you go to put the gear on and the timing marks or off? If so can you just turn the cam or if that’s what is happening can you put the stock gear on with the cam already installed and are the timing marks lined up? What d series are you installing the cam into? Also if you are not using a z6 cam gear it won’t work the savage cam is a z6 so if that golden eagle gear is a Y8 gear that’s your problem.

My issue was that I was installing the street savage cam with the golden eagle cam gear on the camshaft already. And when I tried to put the rocker arm assembly on it wouldn’t sit flush and the cam gear would turn every time I try to make it sit flush, because aren’t you supposed to have the cam gear at tdc then tighten the rocker arm assembly down. Or am i doing it wrong the whole time

@@gxwsr4665 yeah that’s what ya do but it will turn when it’s tightened that’s fine just once the rocker arms are all torqued just rotate the cam to tdc it only moves a little and isn’t a big deal it won’t hurt anything when it moves

@@gxwsr4665 one other thing I just thought of that I didn’t mention is the adjusters for the valves on the rocker arms should be all the way out that will help with it turning the cam but more importantly when you are torquing it there is less cha be if snapping the cam from u even pressure

Hello, how are these bulbs holding up? Do you think the quality of the light has diminished over time? Such as they got dimmer overtime? I had a pair of cheap H11s on a different car low beam only which stayed on often. The color of the light itself was nicer than halogen. However the throw/intensity of the light wasnt any better than the Halogen. Sometimes im wondering if the lights even do anything. The street lights around me seem to be doing enough work. This was after half a year of use? Thanks for any feedback

@@schmikels_garage Thank you for the response. I dont think I purchased the absolute cheapest ones. I got some middle shelf product. I look at the design of all the various products before making a purchasing decision. I try to do in depth researching by looking at the LEDs in the chip, how they dissipate heat and other factors. Since these are Hi/LO its kind of important to have quality in this department. As with a stand alone lo and high I can change between them to get home. Your answer does seem reassuring.

Hey I’m really sorry have a couple questions if you could help me. I got the ame harness and my car has no wiring at all and I got a chipped ecu with laptop running all that but I’m confused on how to connect it to power. I know this sounds stupid but where does the ecu get power from. All I have is that eBay connector. Also how does the distributor coil get power. The harness has starter signal but where does the starter get power, I know from the key but how to I wire the key into, Can I just tap the wire and add one from the key, I’m so confused.

That radiator comes with a relay kit. Do you recommend installing that kit. If so, how do you connect it up. I have a b20b. I've noticed in other videos. They were just connecting the fan directly to the stock plug. No relay. Being that the fan is different than stock. Without a relay. Wouldn't that Cause app draw. I've seen that happen in other videos. I noticed you have a relay. Please helps me With your suggestion.
@schmikels_garage

Yes it does come with a relay but I would t use the relay they supply. Deff wire in a relay but I would get a 40 amp relay. Try to buy a relay that has the relay with a plug they are real 40 amp ones ones without plugs are 30 and sometimes 20 amps they mark are 40 amps. You wire the relay with the old fan wire power and ground to trigger the relay. Then take a inline fuse with 40 amp fuse from the battery positive to the relay then use the 4th pin on the relay for the fan ground and use 10-12g wire for the battery power and the 4th pin ground

go to hobo freight and get a stepper bit. Drill out the bottom retaining plate one more size so the injector rests on the lip that below the lower o-ring. Hi im not here to bug you . Im always ready to learn Im getting confused by your math.. If you could explain me please? Here what i find with my math You got around 20ml in 4 sec 1 minutes ( 60 secondes )is 4 sec multiply by 15 ( 15x4 =60) Your 20 ml x15 = 300 Your injectors is about 300cc/minute 300÷10.5 = 28.5 lb/hr
@schmikels_garage
@schmikels_garage 5 ай бұрын
The 4 seconds thing is wrong in the video. Near the end I start to test then a 15 seconds times 4 and times that by 4 again. The way you get it on a machine you can runs for a full 60 seconds is you run it for 60 seconds and times that number by 4. I can’t that’s why I have to split it in 15 and I was getting around 75ml in the 15 seconds. So 75ml x 15sec is 300. 300 x 4 =1200cc
@schmikels_garage
@schmikels_garage 5 ай бұрын
For the lbs you would take the cc number you got 1200 and divide my 10.5 which is 114lbs/hr
@schmikels_garage
@schmikels_garage 5 ай бұрын
Actually I’m wrong haha, you would only times the 15 seconds times 4 I guess which makes the most sense cause 15x4 is 60 for min. So I guess my injectors are still really messed up or that machine doesn’t flow enough cause the pump is only supplied 6v max I may make another video putting a regulator on and 12v to pump and see what happens

The first 4 is to get to 60 seconds and the second I can’t remember what the reason was but that’s what the equation calls for from all the info I found to find the cc, if you wanted to find the lbs/hr you would multiple by 4 if ran for 15 seconds then divide by 10.5

Kinda wish you had room for a dose pipe. This is the exact turbo I would use for my hypothetical car build, and I love the loud whistle of the T51r mod, but I also like the stututu sound of no BOV AND a length of pipe on the intake. (You need the pipe to get the stututu, otherwise it's just basic boring flutter). The reason I ask is that from what I understand, ported/anti-surge housings don't dose as well. They either do "normal flutter" even with a dose pipe, require 2x the boost to dose the same as a straight housing, or make chipmunk noises instead of having that drawn-out first note. At the same time, I've heard ONE car with T51r that doses how I want, but the owner hasn't responded so far, so IDK. It could also be a "small turbo" thing wherein the smaller turbos do the chipmunk crap, which is, again, why I wish you with a (comparatively) small turbo (and engine for that matter) could test it. But sadly, with the way your turbo is clocked on that manifold, I don't see it happening without you removing your driver's side headlight so the pipe has somewhere to go. (There are "rules" in what shape/config of dose pipe actually works, and the ideal setup is either a long-sweep 90 with at least 2x the diameter in length on either side of the bend, or just a straight section 3x-4x as long as the diameter.)

I utilized the factory battery tray just like you. But welded mine instead. Used those ALL STAR quick connects on firewall to charge/ jump etc. Also on the tubular/removable rad support I made my own as well. You are the FABBING type too so you got it. Piece of advice though. You want to do a traction bar for sure if you dont already have one. To mount rad etc. The hardest part is the bends for the headlights. I did one and just mirrored it so it matched and was easier. A fair amount of work. But beats $6-700 for a PLM or others. Nice job BTW
