This is genius man. I really loved it. The shots, the music, editing, exposure. Fantastic top to bottom.

I live in Japan and this video makes me want to go to Japan. You really captured some Christopher Doyle level of cinematography in this. Especially that shot at 11:00. Breathtaking. I'm a video editor and this video was a massive reminder for me that I need to finally get a camera. Masterful work 👏🏽

Another comment I would like to make: absolutely excellent choice of music and how your editing complimented both the images AND the music.

Was the scene on the pedestrian crossing with umbrellas a conscious attempt at creating a Blade Runner homage or was that pure luck? Thanks for the excellent video, you have a superb eye. I probably will never go to Japan in my life but at least this has gotten me a taste of what I always regarded as the most fascinating country in the world.

@illkoncept, It's lovely footage. I hope you shoot more. One question: On the shots where the camera is not moving, did you have it on a locked off tripod? I ask because there is very slight movement. It doesn't distract from your film but I'd like to understand if that is introduced by the camera.

All this footage was filmed handheld and stabilized in post using DaVinci Resolve!

You are very talented. Your vision and the way you have presented what you see and experience around you makes it all the more beautiful. I watch alot of youtube walk through videos and LIVES because I'm planning on moving, or atleast visiting Tokyo for a lengthy period of time by next April. Until now I have not experienced that feeling of awe that I've been searching for. You have definately captured that for me here. I cannot wait to be there in person.

A poetry in each and every scene. One of Polish journalists photographers once said: "Travelling is useless. Only the sceneries change, rules of the game are everywhere the same." I think he might have been wrong.

@@edwllcxn I just coincidentally filmed the same spot on my walk a month apart and then cropped in/lined it up in post. I didn't plan the transition while I was filming, but I guess I did want to show a before/after of the area.

Your work is truly amazing. It's like a moment is brought to life. For example, the woman reflected through the window at night may have experienced happy or sad things in that place. And it becomes a foreshadowing of the future. I'm grateful to have come across this wonderful work. Thank you very much. From Japan with love❤

WOW! Would really love to see your process to give your footage this filmic look! What lenses are you using? I like to film with a GH5 S because it has beautiful colors (esp. skin tones) with some vintage glass and use the film conversion LUTs that come with Davinci :)
